Eckauskas
Sorry if I'm being a bit naive about this, but something's always puzzled me about Eurovision. Is there a rule to say that we're not allowed to enter someone who's featured in the charts? Always wondered why the UK entry isn't someone like Girls Aloud or Take That, etc.
Beverley
we used to send our top acts sandy shaw, cliff richards, lulu, etc but we started having a comp to see who the public prefer europe still send some of their top acts, david civera from aroun 2000 is one of spains biggest pop starts, the greek entry from a couple of years ago anna vissi has sold more records than madonna and the russians sent a lass called alsou who was their top recording act of the time about 8 years ago. we don't go in it to win any longer i reckon
Ulysses
well people sadly, europe are to be deprived of dustin the turkey Thankfully. He was a serious entry. The dudes who created Dustin also created Zig and Zag and a host of other minor cartoon and puppet characters, and they are worth a few quid to say the least. They reckoned that the rank naffness of the song and the Dustin character would catch on with the SMS voting market around Europe, but it seems the txters had more sense. You know Timbaland ..... probably one of the most successful music producers in recent history? With regards to the UK its open to anyone who wants to take part in the UK Eurovision selection process however "they" all think they are "above" it. Stewart MacD
Never heard of. Never seen ads for in "international" record shops. Where is Wogan? Or have we in the Antipodes been dudded with a voiceover from somewhere else? He'd better be there for the final. We're up to Belgium now on TV, and there hjve been some of the worst numbers ever. Montenegro ok, but the Estonians looked more like Vlad and his pals doing a routine. Sure they weren't Lithuanian? Ah well, one more can of Guinness to deaden the pain:at least I'm downloading some Country Joe albums to help me recover tomorrow. Now there's Azerbaijan on - bring back Stalin. neave
The best ever Eurovision entry was the Finnish metal band Lordi, who won it at a canter a few years ago: Thing is, they were actually quite a popular band before Eurovision and have some banging power-metal tunes.
