Following on from the Edinburgh picture thread I thought I'd start one that includes people from outwith Edinburgh to save getting a row again. Not just pictures from your home towns but pictures from places you love.

Tioram Castle near Acharacle (take the Lochailort turn-off on the way to Mallaig).

A ruin, but used to be 'open' to wander around. Some of my best reflecting's been done there over the years, sitting in an open window space gazing out to the islands.

The last time I went there I was devastated to discover that it's been boarded up.

Still a lovely area though.

Don't think I could find a photo of it, but when you walk out of the main building (Atrium) at my Uni (Stirling) and look to the right, over the loch to the mountains it's just absolutely breathtaking. Especially when it's cold and it gets misty. I could spend all day just looking at it.

Truly inspiring.

That's the one mate; you can usually see it from a bit higher up from campus (as in the top of the hill that photo was taken on), but that gives a good idea of how nice it is. Love it. Cheers for that!

"Your mother was a hamster and your Father smelt of elderberries"!

"I blow my nose at you, I wave my private parts at your Auntie, I fart in your general direction you smelly English pig dog."

"Well what are you then"?

"I'm French, why do you think I have this outrageous accent you silly king? Now go away before I taunt you a second time"!

I go to Rockcliffe most summers with my old man. Haven't found a decent picture on google, but it's a special wee place......

Loch Tummel

We use the campsite there quite a lot - it's a lovely place to wake up.

My favourite part of the country, by a very short head, is Assynt.

Craig Gordons Gloves

Cant post any pics cos i;m a bit stupid - but the view from the Brooklyn Bridge looking back onto Manhattan is tremendous. Add to that the view from my old apartment looking down the Hudson to the right with NJ etc and to the left Times Sq.

Assynt, and the drive from Ullapool to Durness is something to be savoured.

Dubrovnik (the old city) from the city walls is lovely.

The best place ever seen for me though is from a place called Poon Hill in the Annapura region of mountains in Nepal. The sun coming up at 4am with the 8th largest mountain in the world in the background is a place i would go back to again and again.

Belfast.

Looking forward to going back in July.

No offence Eck, but Belfast is pretty dull.

Friendly people but everything closes early and most of the clubs are cheesy, Walkabout style garbage. My brother lived there for years and i went over a few times and now that he's moved on, it's not somewhere i'd imagine i'd want to go back to.
