Whoever is picked needs to pick up the tempo, hunger and desire going by reports. Not competing is inexcusable. Would expect Pallardo and McHattie to be the only 1st teamers.

They were awful last week. Interested to see if McHattie has been given a kick up the a*se after his attitude last week.

I would expect probably Hamilton/Gallacher to be in goals. McKay & McHattie in defence. Robinson & Pallardo in midfield and possible Keatings if available and or Carrick to feature. Gary Oliver might feature as well along with likes of Aaron Scott, Liam Henderson & Ali Roy who are all out on loan.

Obviously depends on availability and the how many Overs rule but could well be a very strong side tonight

Gallacher, Hamilton, McKay, McHattie, Robinson, Holt and Walker all trained with the U20s yesterday morning. The U20s were Brown, McKirdy, Beith, Buchanan, Flanagan and Roy.

I'd expect the team for this evening to come from 5 of the first named 7 overage players, all the U20s, Liam Smith and two of the U17s who played against Rangers yesterday (Page and Ian Smith)

Do the under 20s ever play at tynie

If the club are hoping for extra income(however small)then a midweek game at tynie might be just the thing.

That's the odd thing about the arrangement with Newtongrange Star. Hearts don't pay any rental for the use of the ground, but Nitten keep all the gate money plus any kiosk income.

Under the SPFL rules for the competition, Hearts receive ?350 per League game played at a Junior ground, but if the games were played at Tynecastle, they would receive ?1,000 a game (up to a max of ?10,000 over a season) plus any gate money or bucket collections they may choose to charge.

It must be hard for players who have played first team football to go back to playing U20's but you think they would try and make an impression to get back to the first team. Unless some reckon they arent good enough or feel they are being overlooked. This is a problem we will have but we have a goal and that is promotion and you have to play your best side. Most players will still get a chance at some point but its up to them to perform in these games.

Team probably finding it hard to gell with all the first teamers coming in. All train together? But maybe still finding it hard to pull together as a team.

Maybe the costs of Tynecastle make it too prohibitive?

Really have to ask if Jack Ross is the right man to motivate these players? Ok the results don't matter but sounds like there are major problems with defending and desire

These games aren't about results they are about developing our players and getting them playing the system Robbie wants wether your winning or losing

The first half was similar to the previous couple of weeks when Hearts were a bit off the pace and could easily have been more than two goals down, before we got the lifeline of a penalty just before half time. The opening goal was a deflected shot from Spittal. The second was a dodgy penalty given by the assistant ref, when it looked like Hamilton had got the ball before Adeyemo clashed with him. Connolly scored from the spot. Hearts pen came after Robbie Buchanan was brought down by Souttar when in on goal. It could have been a red but the ref gave him a yellow instead. Beith made a good job of the spot kick.

There was a bit of a transformation in the second half as we dominated for half an hour and got the two goals from Flanagan, with a curling shot into the top corner and Henderson with a toe poke after a corner wasn't cleared properly. All was looking good until 13 minutes to go when Spittal's shot was deflected and looped over Hamilton to make it 3-3. A minute later it was 3-4 with Adeyemo scoring from close range. Five minutes later, Hamilton flapped at a cross and the ball fell to Souttar who thumped it home for 3-5. The final goal came from an Adeyemo shot from the edge of the box when he was played in after Robinson lost possession in the United half.

Disappointing once more. United was the hungrier side and always seemed to believe that they could score more, while Hearts made the mistake of trying to hold onto the 3-2 lead rather going for the jugular when they had United on the back foot.

Keep hearing the word desire, maybe needs to remind some of them they need to show it every game.
