The transfer window closing confirms in my mind that the club don't want him back. That could cause resentment on his part and if so, I hope every attempt is made to smooth ruffled feathers. Just to confirm, the transfer window does not apply to players who are unattached to clubs. Any club can still bring in free agents to bolster their squads.
