Ribble
Bit of shameless advertising! There is a Charity Auction being held at Home House, Picardy Place on friday night to raise money for The Hope Carriers Trust! The Hope Carriers Trust exists to provide real, tangible help to people in developing countries, particularly Romania. Although Romania is now part of the EU, great poverty still exists and the HCT aims to provide practical solutions to alleviate this suffering. They currently help supply and run an orphanage and a kindergarten in Ineu, Romania that clothes, feeds and educates over 100 children every single day. The Hope Carriers Trust is currently focussing on a number of different projects, including the construction of a large storage building near the orphanage in Ineu that will enable donations to be safely and securely stored before distribution; a scheme to help young people in Romania learn a useful trade; and the development of an orphanage for children with special needs. The HCT is run exclusively by volunteers, so every penny you donate will go towards helping with these projects Some cracking prizes up for grabs, see links for more info !
