269miles Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 In the ghetto... Me too. But surpassed by the lads from South Park
leginten Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Suspicious Minds.Did Elvis ever write the lyrics to any song though. I can't believe Suspicious Minds is getting so many votes. Although it's the only Elvis song I like, I would have thought it was nowhere near the pantheon of Presley greats. Hound Dog was the first one I thought of.

The first that you associate with the artist doesn't necessarily mean it's the one you think is the best. For Led Zep, it would prolly've been Stairway to Heaven but on reflection, most would have agreed that it wasn't their finest piece of work. Anyways, thanks to all who put their oar in. I can safely return to my son armed with this evidence and tell him he was talking out his hole when he said Blue Suede Shoes was the song that most folk would immediately associate with Elvis. That'll teach the young whippersnapper to repsect his elders and betters! Fwiw, I'd've gone for Suspicious Minds or Trilogy.
