Strange Drift on Hearts Betfair Odds

Famous Hearts

Hearts price on betfair has drifted from 1.34 to 1.72 in half an hour. Can anyone shed any light on this ie are we playing the kids?

Or is there something more intriguing...

Footballfirst

It has probably drifted because we are playing the same old tried and tested bunch of unmotivated wasters

Nah, it's cos we're not playing the kids = same old pish on show.

I think it's the sentimental logic at work here. This is likely to be Gretna's last ever game & so they should be 'up for it'. We are guff & looked like we couldn't give a toss on Saturday, so as a value punt it has to be Gretna.

Haven't done this for ages, but I have bet on Hearts!

Mole and Glen up front should work well, so I think we'll win

What price did you take as a matter of interest?

I hope you win, but I think you are mad backing us in a game like this.

Zaliukas is playing. That could explain it.

plus an unfit glen and mole up front,so another hearts nil could be on the cards.

2-0, 3-0 and 4-0 for me!

I'm feeling lucky!

Hearts with -1 goal start is 17/10 on Paddy Power!

Anyone taking Hearts even at 1.72 is a more optimistic punter than I am. I'd want twice that.

The classification of tonight's game on the LiveScore site just about sums it up.

Hearts with -1 goal start is 17/10 on Paddy Power!

0-0 is 10/1

I'm going to have a ?10 on it.

Stick your money on 'No Goalscorer' then, same odds, but if an own goal goes in then you still get your money....

1.75 is great odds.

Even though we are rubbish, i still think we should be able to see off Gretna.

I took 1.74

Against Gretna, and with the team we have chosen, I think its good value

I clicked the listen live thing on BBC and the news was on.

I looked about and found the correct link.

Anyone else bet on Hearts and is now regretting it?

Ouch!

Not only do we get the humiliation of losing to Gretna, but it costs you ?100 quid

Maybe the drift was because money was being put on Gretna by our players. Wouldn't be any kind of a surprise.

They left it a bit late to gift them a goal, but that doesn't surprise me either that the useless huddies nearly stuffed up throwing a match.

jambos are go!

Your unlikely to become a millionaire betting on Hearts to lose on the exchanges. The layers/bookies are not stupid you know and bets are likely to only amount to a few thousands rather than milllions. Attempts to suggest anybody is makinga mint are just stupid. Rigging an Indian Cricket match with millions bet on it maybe - but Hearts c'mon.

FORTHCLYDE

About 1965 some English footballers were jailed for deliberately losing to benefit a betting ring. Were some Hearts players doing the same last night?

Let's hope so, they more Hearts players put in the pokey the better.

Zaliukas is playing. That could explain it.

I was so uninterested in last night's match i flicked on the radio at full time, just in time to hear skelton score. Then, in summing up, the commentator said, "things got worse for hearts when zaliukas was stretchered off with a head knock."

all i could think about was how, ever, that could be described as a bad thing for hearts.

Famous Hearts

This was kind at what I was hinting at last night.

http://www.hearts.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=109521

I think the change in price would be described as strange betting patterns by the bookies though the amount matched was only around 100K and not the amount of cash previously involved in rigged matches eg Accrington v Bury a couple of weeks ago.(which has to be proved admittedly.

However as the writer of the column suggests it would explain a lot of the strange selection decisions over the last few years.
