Britain is like the scrawny special needs kid who hung around with the bully (USA) for self esteem.

Now some people on here think we can defeat the other bully (Russia).

That's some Hibs level delusion right there.

Got to agree with this

Correct. Britain, meanwhile, lost a war to Iceland. That's Iceland, for heavens sake.

Throwing cod at each other is not a real war Shaun..........................had we known about this low down tactic we could have practiced before going to sea with one hand tied behind our backs.

However we did learn from this and now they are paying for the insult in cold hard cash...................they are now no more than a low budget off the high street outlet.

But incidentally, while we're on the subject:

http://www.forbes.co...-success-story/

Instead of allowing the criminals responsible for bank fraud to run free as the years passed by, Iceland thought it might be wise to actually indict bankers who committed serious financial crimes that contributed to the collapse. By paying off loans for consumers, forgiving homeowner debt (up to 110% of the property value), and throwing the offenders in prison, Iceland was able to bounce back. Now, its economy is ?recovered? and is growing faster than both the US and European economies.

?We were wise enough not to follow the traditional prevailing orthodoxies of the Western financial world in the last 30 years. We introduced currency controls, we let the banks fail, we provided support for the poor, and we didn?t introduce austerity measures like you?re seeing in Europe.?

Putin is correct and if nationalist dicks get independence we'll be a tiny country on a small island that even less people listen to.

you're right. we should be further involving ourselves with the EU in order to have people around the world pay more heed to David Cameron.

Well who would have thought it? Avoiding the Gordon Brown Saving The World strategy works! Very surprising.

Yes, but they weren't able to pool and share their resources with Denmark. Think of the uncertainty. Why won't you think of the uncertainty?

To be serious: while this is really for the other thread, there is actually something completely ridiculous about any Scot thinking Scotland somehow won't survive if it becomes independent. That line of thinking is literally mad.

Where have you found anyone who says that?

There are certainly people who think it. And some in the Better Together campaign are trying to exploit it. Fear wins votes.
