Was thinking about this yesterday, would be fascinating to see as though at the moment we have a squad of Scottish players (and one Australian who is eligable for Scotland) which we can be proud of, there has been many overseas players that have played for the Jam Tarts with pride. So which countries have had a player who has worn the top of Hearts in a competitive game (so no youngsters who never played in a competitive senior game or trialists.) At the momment I have (and I just need one player from each country:)

Republic of Ireland - Stephen Elliott

France - Stephane Adam

Bizarrely enough Goss was born in Cyprus, so could Rob Ogleby count for Wales.

George Wright was born in South Africa

Was MDV not from the Dutch Maldives or Surinam or some wee island somewhere rather than Hollander? Petty but we might need to add in Van de Van as a proper dutchie.

Where was Goncalves born? Did he not qualify for a few different National Sides?

What about Musemic?

Not sure if they played any first team games so maybe cheating a little but:-

Copil - Romania

Kostadinov - Bulgaria

De Vries born in Suriname?

Could also replace the Welsh player with Freddie Warren from the 30's and have Jeremy Goss as his country of birth which was Cyprus!

Fitzroy Simpson - Jamaica.

Not certain we want reminded of that, he was rank rotten.

:afro: just noticed Fuller's down for Jamaica - far better option

I think that Goncalves was born in Portugal, brought up in Switzerland and played for Portugal under 21s.

I take it we can't include the likes of Kostadinov, Copil. etc from when the youth team came from across the globe?

He moved to Switzerland at 2 years old and as a result holds Swiss citizenship.

He's also eligible to play for Cape Verde through the 'Scottish Granny' rule.
