Your more likely to stay in a job if you don't get your team promoted from the Championship, gaining promotion is like a death knell for managers who get their team up. It's nigh on impossible to stay up and the board sacks the manager who gave them the opportunity to taste Premiership football. If Stoke get promoted, they'll get humped every week and Tony Pullis will get sacked half way through the season! Whereas someone like say Pardew who hasn't got Charlton promoted will probably get a full season next year. Total madness, managers get punished for promotion!
