Patrick Bateman
I went to see the on Friday and thought it was excellent. As with all of Paul Thomas Anderson's films, there's a great story, depth to the characters and, of course, great performances from Philip Seymour Hoffmann and Joaquin Phoenix. I can see them being nominated for Academy Awards when the time comes, but I have a feeling that Anderson will be neglected again. This is unashamedly a film goer's film, and almost certainly benefits from a second viewing with various subtexts and themes being explored. If you liked PTA's other films like Boogie Nights, Magnolia and particularly There Will Be Blood, it's definitely worth seeing. Has anyone else gone to see it yet? The Brow
Going to see this tomorrow night. PTA is easily the best director of the past 15 years so I cant wait to see this. Hoffman is absolutely brilliant in all his 'proper' films And the story looks very interesting. Glad to hear its as good as it looks.
