Medico Posted April 20, 2008 Share Posted April 20, 2008 Not watching that but I did see a bit of a thing on channel 5 (i think )earlier on about the world's shortest people - some form of dwarf. Some of them were kids and were talking about growing 'up' to be basketball coaches and the likes and when one was asked if he thought short people could do things like that the boy came out with 'I can do anything'. Was all a bit odd. I mean fair enough encourage the kid but thats just a bit unrealistic! I missed the guys name but there was certainly a bloke in the show that fits the bill you describe. He comes from North East England and played pro basketball before heading to Hollywood. His dad is 6'5" and, to me, appears to be a giant (I'm 6'3" and don't often come across folk bigger then me) but then when you see Peter Crouch beside his dad, the dad seems just like a normal height. There was a doctor on the programme last night who said the same thing, he reckoned it would account for a little bit of height, but nowhere near 7 inches, so it's definately possible that he was in the 7ft club at one point. It was the guy at college that got me, when the 'bodyguard' was talking about having to protect him from getting trampled coming off the bus and then when he was in the cafeteria and was about the same size as the bin. And then when they were chucking the kids in the air as well - that was just weird!! The bit with the girl saying she wanted to have kids was a shame. I don't know if its actually impossible for it to happen, just that it never has so far. Getting pregnant in the first place could be a mission though and then unless the baby was a dwarf too it would be far too big At least she said she wanted to adopt as well though. Saying that, he makes a living out of it so there are some positives! The guy who went about saying he was 7'5 was a total erse! Imagine one of they chaps sitting in Tannadice!!!!!!!!!! I am 6ft 6, and am gutted, because when I started playing basketball at 15, I was the same size. Got watched by a couple of American College's when I was 17-18, and both said that they'd be interested in offering me a full scholarship if I was 3 inches taller.
