We were taking daughter thro to visit the castle as it was a freebie day and as per usual she was only really interested in the dungeon/prison side of things (shes strange that way)! On the way out I asked her if she fancied looking for a ghost, yep was the reply, so down to Greyfriers we go. Which one is it she asks looking at the mausoleums, I don,t know just look. We came to one that she refused to go near because she didn,t like the look of it, so we carried on round before we came to a map of the place showing where the famous mausoleums were and yep, you,ve guessed it, it was MacKenzies that she wouldn,t go near! Del1812 Posted April 14, 2008 Share Posted April 14, 2008 While there are quite a few stories around that Mausoleum, the haunted one is in the bit closed off to the public, the Covenanters Prison.
