Fermit the Krog Posted December 3, 2011 Share Posted December 3, 2011 Been speaking to someone at the club and he reckons that in 6 weeks we'll be playing on a park akin to Fir Park circa 2009. Some disease on the grass apparently. I thought it was noticeable today how much it had deteriorated since last week. Certainly not our biggest problem however, just passing the info on. Re Grounsman we apparently have a guy, Walter Smith has described as the best groundsman in Scotland. Sorry to burst the bubble on 2 doom & gloom stories. As for the pitch, not doubting his abilities as a groundsman, but this apparently would cost money that we don't have to sort. Not doom and gloom, just passing on what i've been told. Before the game and at half time, all you see is a couple of guys with garden forks digging at the odd bit of soil, as if thinking it will actually do anything If I was the groundsman I'd be digging up holes and roughing up the turf infront of the other teams goal, and then correcting it at half time. I do not know the reason for their departure but i do know that he, (Gavin), had been struggling to get paid, (sounds all to familiar), and that they had parted company before start of season.
