Cheeky scamp!:) If you ever wanted a decent read on the pistols though read JL's biog, very truthful, no holds barred. Even the title's great.

Talentless?

Haha can you write a song like he can?

Didn't think so.

Whata coupla clash rip off b-sides and some whining strumming on an acoustic? What a poet.

As I said, talentless.

Well is it cruel or kind

Not to speak my mind

And to lie to you

Rather than hurt you

Well, I'll confess all of my sins

After several large gins

But still I'll hide from you

And hide what's inside from you

And alarm bells ring

When you say your heart still sings

When you're with me

Oh darling, please forgive me

But I no longer hear the music

Oh no no no no no

And all the memories of the pubs

And the clubs and the drugs and the tubs

We shared together

Will stay with me forever

But all the highs and the lows

And the tos and the fros

They left me dizzy

Oh darling, please forgive me

But I no longer hear the music

Oh no no no no no

Well I no longer hear the music when the lights go out

Love goes cold in the shades of doubt

The strange face in my mind is all too clear

Music when the lights come on

The girl I thought I knew has gone

And with her my heart it disappeared

Well I no longer hear the music

Oh no no no no no

And all the memories of the fights and nights

Under blue lights and all the kites

We flew together

Love thought they'll fly forever

But all the highs and the lows

And the tos and the fros

They left me dizzy

Oh won't you please forgive me

But I no longer hear the music

Oh no no no no no

Music when the lights go out

Love goes cold in the shades of doubt

The strange face in my mind is all too clear

Music when the lights come on

The girl I thought I knew has gone

And with her my heart it disappeared

Oh no no no no no

And I no longer hear the music

And that was his first song he wrote. Talentless ofcourse though :)

Junkie **** should be kept inside.

From the man who has "Sexdrugsrocknroll" under his username - I do find your comments a bit bizarre to say the least.

Its taken far too long for this to happen. If that had been any average Joe, he would have been banged up the first time. 14 weeks is not long enough for this tool.

He's a junkie and i really don't like him but it's not fair to call him talentless.

The song already posted in this thread is only one the great songs he has produced both with the Libertines ( who are one of the best British bands in the last 20 odd years) and with Babyshambles.

It's a good read NT. In fact, i might have to dig it out again.

I read it on my holidays last year, absolutely brilliant. One of the best books i've read.

He will be loved (and not in an invasive way) in prison.

If you were a con would you rather get a reputation for hitting Doherty or protecting the millionaire rock star?

I'm glad he went to jail, but I don't think it'll make the slightest bit of difference to him.

He's a junkie, he's smelly, but he is not talentless.

To say so is just a defence mechanism for those who truely are talentless. I'd love to hear you perform a whole set of your own songs in front of a packed audience whilst being ****ed off yer t!ts.

Go on, go for it.

I went to see Babyshambles in February, and that was part of their UK tour which finished just recently.

All gigs sold out I believe as well.

No-one is saying he isn't always out of it. We're just saying he isn't talentless. To say he is talentless is pretty ridiculous.

Just like i thought, you couldn't quote me on it :)

You didn't say it. However you said that he had performed gigs recently while out of his head by means of quoting others.

Not really tricky if you follow the flow of the thread.

Hopefully this stint does him some good. Last time he went in it cleaned his act up some what. Maybe this time he'll go the whole way.

As for talentless, don't make me laugh. Read about the boy, find out what he's done in his life. I bet he's more intelligent that 95% of people on here. Don't believe everything you read in the papers. As Hearts fans, we should know a little something about that.

Yes, he's a druggie. Did that stop the Stones, Beatles, or the majority of any decent band? Nah, didn't think so.

Good luck Pete.

But they were musicians with drug issues, his drug issues are now more important than his music. There is also the slight side issue of how successful they were. The Beatles and the Stones were good before the drugs.

Hendrix was a genius. He died of excessive drug use.

Doherty and The Libertines in the early years (not as much drugs!) were still a top top band. And then went onto becoming an even better band.

His drug issues are more important because the media make a very big deal out of it. We all know he has drug problems, but they have it in the public eye too often. (IMO of course)

His music influences a lot of bands and a lot of fans (me falling into those categories (could you tell?;))) It cannot be denied that he writes and performs great songs, and does this whether he is on or off drugs, consistently.

He doesn't deserve credit for his drug use and abuse, but he deserves massive credit for writing and performing songs on a consistent basis DESPITE his drug use.

Exactly. People go way over the top with Pete, but I'd bet any money they like an artist from years gone by with drug problems.

The Libertines aren't even the best band to come out of London in the last 20 years. He's a talentless twerp, who rode on Mick Jones' production skills and Peter Perets back catalogue.

I hope he gets rogered stupid in the nick.

Funny thing is I reckon if the red tops were are around back in the day and as savage as they are now there would be a lot of old artists who we would see as just junkies.

Pete's lifes been ruined by drugs, probably, but the press has done nothing to help.

My view is he shouldnt be locked up, waste of money, he should be made to do endless community service and gve some thing back rather than go in to an organisation that will just mean he doesnt have to leave the building to get drugs.
