Don't know if anyone has seen this but a Johnstones paint trophy match between Accrington Stanley and Tranmere Rovers was abandoned after an Accrington played called Tom Bender was injured and was receiving medical treatment on the pitch for over 25 minutes, was not moving much during those 25 minutes, hope the boy is alright

Say What Again

BBC text updates read like the game was stopped for over half an hour before being abandoned.

BBC says: "He collided with Accrington goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin and Tranmere's Lucas Akins, and after being treated for 25 minutes was stretchered off and taken to hospital."

Suspected broken neck. It's all over Twitter but not heard anything on BBC or Sky Sports News.

5 Live saying suspected broken neck too. Physio said to ref under no circumstances does the boy move until the ambulance arrives. Thank god someone knew exactly what to do and the ref had the sense to adhere. Get well soon son.

From that picture it actually looks like a terrible challenge from the tranmere boy! It looks like he is leading with his knee!

Konrad von Carstein

Was only half watching (with the sound down) but Sky Sports News have just said he has concussion and has been given the all clear.

accrington stanleys twitter feed confirms this, and he is being kept in overnight as a precaution

This. :thumb:

How many times would pressure be put on those responsible to get the match finished? There are times when we all tend to forget that it is just a game.

Great news. The last thing you want is a player to be seriously injured, hope he's back playing for his side soon.
