We have to expect we CAN beat them, after all look at their auful performance in the US the other day. I'd have liked a Hunnish biased bet , eg 5/1 for us to win.

Is anyone betting on the Referendum result? The odds are pretty low but I've just stuck a few hundred on No.

Got Heatrs 2-1 (14-1) Hearts 3-1 (33/1) and Oz. Sow (13/4) to score.

Bet 365 places 8 of the rangers team as more likely to score than Ozman.

- the fools :-)

Saw the other day that Paddy Power are doing a similar deal for the EPL as they did for the World Cup, bet ?20 on the top scorer and get a ?2 free bet every time they score. Am I missing something or is betting on someone like Sturridge who should be a nap to score at least 10 a license to print money (or free bets, at least)?

If you get a ?2 free bet and put it on a team to win at evens, (which obviously represents like a 50:50 chance of the team winning) then you get ?2 if they win as the stake is not returned on a free bet, or nothing if they lose or draw. So half the time you win ?2 and half the time ?0. So the average amount you win per ?2 free bet is actually only ?1.

Usually a 50/50 shot at the bookies though the odds are like 10/11 so using this they'd probably have to score 21 to get the stake back, and after then it would be more like printing money.

That said it's still a good offer in my eyes, so may whack ?20 on Aguero and see what happens this season. Sorry if this isn't explained perfectly but I assure you the maths is right!

Surely that maths only works if you just put the free bets on roulette? (Theoretically as usually sports and casino sections are separate with bookies I use)

I understand how the bets work, just hadn't looked into it and assumed I must have missed something. They did it before at the WC but very few players score more than one goal there so they aren't losing much. Just surprised at how many free bets they must be willing to give away over the course of the season!

Lol, they give people a free bet every so often so you will continue betting. How many of us keep a spradsheet of weekly monthly or quarterly gains and losses?

I am only breaking even over 3 months though some weeks I was doing great. So I am someone who can continue to bet if I maintain my present strategies whatever they may be.

I want to improve my returns so I am not yet doing enough . But long term they say the Bookie always wins.

- now to free bets. Getting a free bet to do what you want to do on condition you are also going to bet on something else, that something else might be more risky!

So people may get sucked in ( I have not said suckerd in as most of us are suckers) .

WHat would I NOT bet on ? well I dont bet on 'who will score' as even great sgtrikers only score every second match on average. They might score twice at times, but they do have blank weeks

so it is not even as good as evens.

I DO run doubles and trebles with very small stakes, and of course large percentage returns, eg 20/1, 30/1 .

I quite like 'x to win and both terams to score' as you might get say 3/1 or better instead of evens.

Here again I dont know the true odds or chances of it. It's all a bit of fun normally but at times I run a biggie , eg Ajax to win v Celtic in the ist match ?100 on the nose of the bet. 4/10 odds so gained ?40. But I COULD have lost ?100! jso I was very relieved .

Lastly I always avoid hearts v good teams betting as I won't even go short on Hearts ! I did have 3-1 for Hearts v RAngers as I thought we had a good chance. Of course I lost the bet but the odds were great. Lastly I tend to bet on large English home games eg Man U. These are usually around 1/2 so ?20 quid returns a tenner. When they have their long winning runs you do quite well, though you dont win a lot, at least you rarely lose.

I'm having a bit of that action. ?1.90 returns ?86.47 at Hills.

I've also gone for a safe accumulator of Arsenal, Man Utd and Everton. First day of the season is a lottery as so many teams have new line ups and you don't know if they have carried form from last season.

Had 4 aways on tonight, Brentford, Forrest, Watford,Derby. ?5 would have returned ?2232.69.

Derby County

Ouch!

I had a little treble on Brighton,Nottingham Forest and Cardiff. ?1.75 returned almost ?40. Which made up for a losing weekend in terms of bets.

Giroud with that 2-2 equaliser just netted me ?150. Easily the biggest winner I've had. Won with the winnings from a simple Chelsea/Swansea double earlier.

Landed 35 /1 yesterday.. Hearts Alloa Falkirk , and Newco Only Falkirk had me on tenterhooks. Alloa was a lucky reversal of Cowdenbeath's recent form. I also had ICT to beat Celtic on another bet but that bet didn't win.

Incidentally yesterday showed Hearts' real strength even away, and Raith had not lost a match until then.

Bet 365 has a special offer today, place a bet on the Man City Liverpool match before start. Then place a bet on any other option such as who to score etc, during the match to the same amount.

If the FIRST bet loses, they will refund the full stake money up to ?50.

Now, I am suspecious that this is a sort of trap, Can anyone else see the problems with this offer? Now, the odds for ?10 bet City to win would return ?8 gain, for Liverpool to win is closer to 4/1 ( they are the away team). Whats to stop me making my SECOND bet, for Liverpool to win. BARRING A DRAW this is a great offer... I feel BEt 365 think a draw is a very possible outcome. Other views very welcome.

PS got all the bigger "women teams" Celtic Liverpool Chelsea and another, to win yesterday, four fold , came out at 10/1 I should have put a tenner on them but only ran it at 50p!

Does anyone know why Malmo are 11/2 to beat Red Bull at home tonight? It seems a big price considering Red Bull only won the first leg 2-1.

Will go for Athletic Bilbao and Bradford for a double tonight. Might play Malmo aswell as long as they aren't missing half a team or something.

Hello The Oak, and any other Jambos around.

My choices for today - so as I am posting them it will be gash, lol

3 separate bets

1 Many U Man City Newcastle and Swansea 4 fold. 5/1

2: Burnley Sunderland Swansea Southampton ?1. returns ?98.00

3: Aberdeen ITC Dundee and Dundee United ?1.00 returns ?38.57

So we will see . I don't have my Chamionship bet worked out yet.

My enemy seems to be draws.

Trick is to be able to take some profits while also betting with the betting company's money. I spent years on trading the stock market so maybe thats why I have done OK at the footie.

Nice, I had a cheeky wee fiver on 4-1 or us today @ 22/1 and the same on us -2 @ 4/1

Nervous last five minutes though, crazy sitting there feeling like we were hanging on for a result and were 4-1 up at the time.

Well done! wonder what the odds were for FIVE ONE ! Waiting on tenterhooks now to see if Dundee can get a win over Celtic who are a bit out of sorts and they are away to complete yesterday's four fold.
