edinburgh_red Posted August 26, 2011 Share Posted August 26, 2011 Hi All Can anyone tell me as to how I go about importing the files from my 500gb Dane Electric External hard drive?? I backed up my data onto it (thankfully) before my old PC (Win XP) crashed and burned. I now have a new Packard Bell Windows 7 and I dont seem to be able to import from the external disk. frankblack Posted August 26, 2011 Share Posted August 26, 2011 I assume this external hard drive is a simple USB connection so is compatible with both your old and new PCs. I guess the main question is how you backed up your files - what type of files they are, and what is needed to restore them? The key question is HOW you backed up your data - you don't explain that. If you just copied documents then you should be able to copy them from the external drive to your new PC's hard drive - or just edit them on the external drive.
