Ivan Drago
What festivals is everyone going to other than T in the park? Connect festival lineup has been announced, looking pretty tasty with Franz Ferdinand, Kasbian, and the Manics http://www.connectmusicfestival.com/ Rock Ness is looking pretty good also with Editors, Fatboy Slim, and Underworld http://www.rockness.co.uk/ Download isnt looking as heavy as usual, but does have Lost Prophets, The Offspring, oh and Kiss.....and Judas Priest http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk/lineup/index.aspx Reading and Leeds apparently got RATM, Metallica, Manics, they usually have the best and most varied lineups nowadays. Cant find a link for this though. Im severely tempted to go to connect this year likes, think mt TitP days are behind me now, the lineups dire these days. cosanostra
The summer festivals are all too full of indie music for my liking. I just can't take much from those homegenous, Franz Ferdinand look-alikes so i wouldn't pay the ridiculous amounts to see a bunch of bands I don't like. There's rarely ever any hip-hop and the electronica they have is garbage like hot chip, hadouken etc. The only decent festival that I've seen announced so far for this year is Triptych. Gutted that it's the last ever one as i've had some brilliant nights over the last 5 years at Triptych events. I'm going to see the RZA and Flying Lotus at the Arches and after that, i'm going to see Juan Atkins and Mad Mike Banks from underground resistance do their model500 live set at the art school. The RZA is also presenting a Q+A session at the GFT on Jim Jarmusch's legendary Ghost Dog, might chack that out. That's the only thing that's caught my eye so far.
