Peebo
I need to be at Heathrow at 10am the Monday after the Hearts game in Tottenham. If I land at Gatwick at 7.50am, I'm wondering if this would give me enough time to get to Heathrow. Interweb suggest maybe up to 1.30 mins by bus, a bit less in a cab, but just checking if anyone has experience of a similar trip, and whether that is realistic or not, particularly at that time of the morning? SUTOL
Not done that journey but have arrived at Gatwick and tried to get into London at similar times. 2 hours to Dulwich. Is there a bus service that goes between the 2 airports? If so how frequent an what are it's leaving times? Also factor in what terminal etc you are arriving at and leaving from. Do you have a 20-30 min walk through Gatwick before getting to a bus-stop or taxi rank? Any slight delay on your 1st flight will make it very dodgy if you make it. who are you flying with? Haven't booked, but looking at Easyjet, which is obviously risky. Want to leave Edinburgh on the Monday a.m. but could be pretty tight for my flight from Heathrow. There is a bus - says 80-105 mins on one site, but need to factor in time to wait, get in and out of the airports etc.. Have got a taxi between two airports (maybe Luton and Gatwick??) on way to Bordeaux, but cost a fortune, and trying to avoid that.
SUTOL
I've flown Easyjet return to Gatwick twice. All 4 flights were delayed, sometimes by hours. Easyjet were held to let BA fly, would only go BA to Gatwick in future, if needing to make deadlines.

Very frustrated, as I'm just short of enough airmiles to not have to bother travelling back through London.

Gatwick Express, tube or cab from Victoria to Paddington, Heathrow Express ... pricy but might get you there in time?

If you are transferring the rule of thumb is two hours between flights. now you have to add abus journey which incorporate the M25 and M4 at rush hour. I'd suggest too risky. If everything goes well - Land 7.50, plane taxi's, get off, get to gate say 8.20. 10 mins to bus 8.30. a 15 minute wait for bus 8.45. Bus is quick 30 minutes - 9.15, off bus through security 9.30. run to gate 9.40 - you pay your money , you take your pick.

Yeah, thought about it a bit more, and it's probably not a sensible risk to take - cannae really afford to shell out for a last-minute transatlantic flight is I missed the one I was booked on. Which is kinda just leaving me with sleeper from Edinburgh the night before (after the derby) as an option. Will probably wait until ticket situation is clarified a bit... I'd agree, and if you have luggage to collect too!

suzie_preston
Gatwick to Hearthrow National Express ?25 we used this couple of weeks ago & was straight forward no hassle to terminal 5 arriving earlier than they had said on timetable, buses run about every 20mins, would use again, much easier than train especially if you have luggage.
