Shit happens at least once a month, well it did when I worked on the railways.

The way they announced it was probably over dramatic, must be more common than I thought.

Don't get many derailments at all these days. Due to the significant location of this one though, the delays will rack up.

A train has derailed near Waverley Station in Edinburgh causing major disruption to rail travel.

There were no passengers on the train, which came off the tracks at about 18:00 BST as it was travelling through Princes Street Gardens.

Services to and from Waverley are being disrupted and journeys to Haymarket are delayed by up to 90 minutes.

A spokeswoman for ScotRail said they were preparing a temporary timetable and trying to source replacement buses.
