I thought all the newbys had a good game, but Oboua and Temps should have put us out of sight :(

Grainger was my MOTM with Gowzer a close second  All in all a good performance and we looked a bit more sturdy compared to the end of last season

Got to think all the words from St Johnstone fans have been "never stood out" or nothing special. What the **** have those clowns been watching?

Brilliant corner for the goal, solid defensively and a great shift going forward....looks like a great signing

Excellent replacement for Wallace based on today and his 45 minutes against East Fife.

We'll get goals from his set-pieces as well.

I thought that Grainger and McGowan were both excellent and look forward to seeing a lot more of both.

Grainger looks a good buy, McGowan looks like quality. Not a bad player on the park today.

The boy done good!! Got up and down the park well.good delivery from set pieces, although he didn't get past the wall a couple of times. Him and McGowan probably the stand outs today.

Thought the whole team played well. Midfield got forward to support Sutton, only downside a stupid booking for Zali, and we fell away a bit 2nd half.

How good does McGowan come across in the tv as well.Totally level headed young lad that seems like he has always been in front of a tv camera unlike most other players who are caught like a rabbit in headlights.

Grainger certainly looked quite comfortable playing in there today. When the opposition were attacking down his side i felt quite confident he would come out on top most of the time, and he did.

Impressed by McGowan at right-back, maybe they've found his best position?

Sutton's time will come, had a thankless task up there today but coped reasonably well with what he had to do, shame he never really got the break of the ball but still delighted he's with Hearts.

Delighted with Grainger and almost makes the Wallace move palatable.

Zal was the closest. Lost his man for the goal and had a couple of mental moments. Great overall performance.

If he can keep that up we will have done some good business.

Exactly.

From the radio, it sounded like he's a bit of a throw in specialist too. That could be handy.

Remember Robbie "The Tackle" Nielson's throw in's - helped us nick a few points.

Grainger will prove more valuable than Wallace. Better defensively and can finally give us the ability to use our height!

Grainger was great today, more than adequate replacement for Wallace and also his dead balls look quite good as well.

well what can i say Danny was my man of the match. That is the best performance from a Hearts full back at ibrox i can ever remember i was amazed how well he played and thought when we signed him it was a squad filler but WOW if he can kep this up what an absolute great piece of business. a possible star is born take a bow son and gowser was not far behind.

It's only based on one game but I echo all above. Full-backs were pleasing today!

Can't get carried away and say he's the best signing etc but very promising today. Like JJ said after, give it 10 games until everybody settles in.

Equally we didn't see much of Sutton, I won't write him off based on one game away from home as much as I would say Granger is the signing of the season based on 93 mins.

As I said mid-week however, 1.5 mill for a guy who played 9 games last season is a shrewd bit of business.

This. And the other thing I kept hearing from them is "corners never get past the defender at the front post"

Tell Obua that... :whistling:

We had good long throws from both sides. First time since 05/06 that they looked a danger. We'll get goals from them this season.

Looks like a shrewd signing from Jim. We didnt miss Lee at all today, but its early days though for the guy. He and the whole squad in fact need to maintain that level of performance.

Grainger was brilliant today , and given time he will learn to come out and play naismith and the other rangers cu next Tuesday offside .

I am pissed but I'm pretty sure he played naismith on side for there goal , one mistake but he will learn , the only player I'm disappointed with is mehdi thought he would offer more but kept getting caught with the ball , would rather suso but ,first half display and new boys , well impressed .

It's between us and the victims for the title.

Again yes , I'm steaming !!!

I've been surprised how good he's been the few times I've seen him.

Looking a damn good signing.

With the crosses he can put in and with Sutton and Kyle (when fit) looking for them there should be plenty of goals and plenty of chances this season.

Hurry back Big K. :rolleyes::thumbsup:

I must say that this morning I was dreading today especially when I thought how weak we'd be at full back. Then what happens is that was our strongest area on the park. So why did we not play McGowan at RB before now or is it a one-off performance.

He never really stood out when he played against us. So I was a bit 'meh' when we signed him.

He was brilliant today.

And for the 1st time in ages we look dangerous at corners.

Lee who?

Some players are just better with better players around them and some players just have the ability to step up a level. That's my assessment of Grainger. Very pleased.

J.T.F.Robertson

He has a good build on him, (ooh err, missus) gets up and down the park well, decent long throw and a nice left peg. All the ingredients, "just" needs to keep it going.

Grainger had a great game. When lost the pace a bit 2nd half still put himself in right in front of the player for the ball, committed. SJ ST holder I know says he is a class above the rest of their team and only last season looked like he wanted to be elsewhere though. Trust in JJ here and think he will be consistent for us. All positive from todays performance with only Zal drifting and slightly erratic at times.

With other players to come in for us also, a great point!

McGowan came across great when interviewed too.

DG was superb today, only downside is that he could have been tighter on naismith for the goal.

He's got some delivery on him, can see us getting a few goals from them.

Very impressed with both full backs today, good solid performances from them both. 2 problem positions might well have found their solutions. :thumb:
