DETTY29
http://sport.scotsman.com/theoldfirm/257-arrests-as-Old-Firm.6759640.jp So generally they behaved during the game but it's the pre/afters where there is still a significant problem. The devil in me wonders how bad it could get if for example a game was played behind closed doors but still televised. Carnage.
The Treasurer
Funny how the west coast gutter press don't seem to have made much mention of this in their rush to praise the "well behaved" OF fans
Riddley Walker
Why should they be praised anyway? "Well done for not acting like a bunch of bigoted, twisted, infantile serpents". They shouldn't be praised for acting in a vaguely civilised manner.
Wolfstar
Bill Leckie (not a man I usully like) did a good article on Monday or Tuesday this week. He said was at the game and he felt the signing, chants, behaviour was not much different from any other old firm game. 'just because there was no arrests for sectarian offences does not mean that none were carried out' He said there is an issue with the police and they had been advised to let more go in and around the stadium, and also having 300 undercover cops within the stadium just means people may act differently on fear of being arrested, rather than having a changed attitude. He also slagged rangers for placing 40,000 union jacks on all home fans seats as this clearly intices sectarian hatred within that environment. IMO UEFA have seen Rangers for what they are, the quicker more of our media and suits at the GFA man up and start acting on these knuckle draggers the better. It's only in Scotland where a blind spot exists.
