Brandt Posted April 29, 2011 Share Posted April 29, 2011 I know he was never at Hearts but back in the day, for St. Johnstone, he was a great goalkeeper. 6 years at St. Johnstone. Used to get absolute abuse from the Hearts fans every time we played them. When he'd run up to our end he used to wave at us to bring the abuse on. Any other players you didnt mind that never played for us? :-) I remember one game at Tynie when, after the toss (ooo-err missus ) , he was walking towards the Hearts fans at the school end but no-one was paying him any attention. He stopped, about half-way to the goals, scratched his head in exagerrated puzzlement, then pointed to his belly. The Hearts fans - who were clearly a bit slow on the uptake that day, or had had an extra 2 or 3 beers as a precautionary measure - quickly got the message and greeted him with a resounding chorus of "you fat b******, you fat b******...". He then gave the thumbs-up and waved to all concerned. A bit of attention seeking, maybe, but anything that raises genuine communal laughter at a game can't be bad... jambonian Posted April 29, 2011 Share Posted April 29, 2011 I remember Rhodes when he was at Dunfermline one time, in the days of the terracing behind the goals, he went to take a goalkick, it ended up going out for a throw-in near the dugouts, a mate of mine (well known on here....millerjambo60, the Dougstar) laughing at him let out an almighty scream from the corner flag, everyone on that terracing looked over towards him, most in the entire ground heard him but the best was Rhodes's reaction, looking over towards him bewildered, staring at him before shaking his head in disbelief! Any other players you didnt mind that never played for us? :-) I knew the said Andy Rhodes very well when he was at Dunfermline,we went out most weekends for a bevvy and he was the biggest poser youve ever ever seen. I even went with him to buy Jordans first bike many years ago. Unfortunately he did the dirty on a mate and was duly binned by most Dunfermline people for his antics. Smack Posted April 30, 2011 Share Posted April 30, 2011 Most of the people I am supposed to hate as a Jambo, I find the most entertaining. Lennon, Riordan, Pressley(?), Andy Walker. Nothing better than seeing someone losing the plot and doing something utterly mental. When they express there bile in a physical / written or any other sense, it just makes me laugh at how daft they are. I'm going on record as saying I love the SPL for what it is. Just noticed p0ab2 has footage of a 0-0 draw at Perth where the guy plays an absolute blinder to stop Robbo, Colquhoun, Mojo and others from scoring.
