Bigsmak
Bought a dinner suit from M&S today (was less than ?60 for it all) as I have a golf club thing at the weekend. Need to wear a bow tie but the bow-tie shirts they had were ?35.. Anyone make any recommendations to where I can get a shirt with the wee silly collars for less (hopefully a lot less) than this? Cheers!

londonjambo
The answer is not to. Wing collars for black tie is unbelieveably naff and 1980's. Just get a dress shirt with an ordinary collar. Problem solved GC

Victorian
make your own wing collar by turning up the collar of a cut-away collar shirt and ironing over the corner. works ok for folk with really long necks. no long neck... don't.
londonjambo
Black tie = turn down collar White Tie = Wing tip Agreed. Test it this way - when did you last see James Bond in a casino with a blonde on each arm wearing a wing collar shirt. GC
