Just seen on the SPL website that they have lost 2-1 to Aberdeen. Does anyone know who scored for Hearts?

No - sorry. Bit odd though as the club website has this game down for tomorrow. Unless of course it's some form of outrageous conspriacy and someone at the SPL has made a boo-boo in putting the pre-arranged score up already.

No Robinson - he must be on first team duty?

no Ogleby either, though he was on the bench of the U19s last game.

Just back from the game where Herarts got exactly what they deserved.

After Hearts dominated possession for the first 10 minutes without creating anything, Aberdeen gradually started to take control of the game through their higher workrate. Chances started to come their way with 3 or 4 efforts that went either narrowly wide or just over the bar. Hearts sole effort of the first half came from Jason Holt who shot over from 30 yards, but he only shot because there was nothing else on for him. It was typical of a lacklustre performance from Hearts. It was no surprise when Aberdeen took the lead after 35 minutes, but it was with a goal that shouldn't have stood. Lewis Davidson put in a good cross from the right to the front post and Hamilton had both hands on the ball when the Aberdeen striker Nico Gibson bumped the keeper and the the ball fell into the net.

The Hearts players and bench were incensed that no foul was given and the referee had words with Darren Murray about his complaint.

The second half resumed much as the first half had ended with Aberdeen on top. Callum McRobbie went close with an angled shot and Jack Hamilton made a good save after the Dons made a quick break after winning a challenge in their own half. Hearts finally got their act together, by upping their workrate and started making many more forward passes with the introduction of Ogleby for Morton after 55 minutes. The game became much more competitive and a little physical as a result. Ogleby amost scored with his first touch and Jamie Walker started to influence the game with some penetrating runs from deep and getting some shots at goal.

However, just when Hearts thought they were back in the game, Aberdeen broke down the right and McRobbie's found Davidson who crossed for Jordon Brown to head home at the back post after 65 minutes.

Hearts didn't give up and capitalised on an error 4 minutes later when the keeper misjudged a through ball outside his box and Jamie Walker was quick to win possession and slot the ball into the unguarded net from 20 yards Hearts pushed hard for an equaliser, but Aberdeen looked equally likely to get a third. Hearts had an apeal for a penalty turned down when Holt went down in the box, but their best chance came with 5 minutes to go when the keeper could only parry Walker's shot from 20 yards and two follow up attempts were blocked by defenders.

Aberdeen thereafter comfortably saw out time for the win that moves them above Hearts into third place in the league, although Hearts still have 3 games in hand.

No MOTM performances from Hearts in the first half, but Jamie Walker did come onto a game in the second. The best player on the park was Calum McRobbie who was a threat throughout the game down the Aberdeen right.

Hearts line up

Hamilton

McCormack Murdoch, Hamilton McHattie

Walker Holt Prychynenko Kane (Tobin) Smith (Mullen)

Morton (Ogleby)

Yes and yes, although in defence of Denis, before today he had only played two competitive games in the last 4 months, His last game was on Jan 16th.

They still want to play a passing game, but unless they play it with some tempo then teams are not threatened by it.

BTW Aberdeen are playing well at the moment. Last week they drew with Celtic (unlucky not to win) and lost 2-1 against Rangers (and again unlucky to get nothing out the game).

Yup. The U19s have been badly affected by the weather. However when they managed to start playing again two or three weeks ago, Denis was called up as cover for the first team meaning that he missed out on the recent U19 games.

The U19s season was originally scheduled to finish next Saturday, but they still have 8 games to play (more than any other team in the league).

Cheers, FF - appreciate the reports on the young lads - keep it up, if you don't mind!
