Can someone tell me why we haven't got rid of him yet?

He's done next to nothing since he scored at the end of last season against the scum, he's murder every time he plays, god knows why JJ decided to put him on he's the last player we want on the park when we desperately need a goal.

Dead wood like him must go in the summer.

He has a contract - we have to honour it...unfortunately.

We should terminate it, it's worth paying for.

Of course not, I'm just saying in general we must get rid of players like this, we need options on the bench to come on and push for a winner like we could have done tonight, but not with the likes of Obua.

Some people defend him for some mad reason, but right from the start it was obvious he will never, ever, ever be a footballer in a million years.

I just don't get it, a ballboy would do a better job.

Obua is the cause of so much. It is astonishing that his seven minute run out cost us the entire game.

Sometimes I feel sorry for him, he's constantly asked to play out of his favoured position. Other times - he's reeking.

Certainly not up front. He must prefer midfield.

After tonight i would get rid of half the team.... and to be honest i think if we had started with Obua and Elliott up front it would have given us a chance...

Obua's far from the worst player in the first team. Some of the abuse he gets, TBH, is ridiculous. It's almost a fashion to slag him off, even if he does well. After Kyle, he probably wins more in the air than anyone else. He should have started tonight because we cannot play without a tall player upfront. Our central midfield is mince. That's where the problem lies

Another 14 months of big Dave to look forward to!

I would think not, I expect he will be very near the top of the list of those departing in the Summer. It is rather sad that some Hearts fans think we should have started with him up front tonight, one can only assume they don't actually watch games, or are still reminiscing over his scintillating strike at Easter Road.

He is simply not good enough, although isn't alone in that, others will leave the club during the close season, and hopefully Jefferies will be allowed to strengthen the side.

Agree that the problem lies in central midfield, no creativity at all. However, Obua is total crap, the only reason he OCCASIONALLY wins the ball in the air is cause he's a lanky *******. In terms of footballing ability, well, he doesn't really have any.

Hmmm, good question. Tricky one too.

I'd imagine its either leaning back in the rangey trying to be gangsta..... or..... living it up in a vip lounge somewhere surrounded by all dem b!tches wanting a sniff at a footballing superstar, again, trying to be gangsta.

Obua is a ******. And not even a talented footballing ******. Just a ******.

My heart sank when I saw him on the bench last night.

JJ needs to get guys like him, Elliot, Glen, Kucharski and Jason Thomson out of Tynecastle as quickly as possible.

All 5 are rancid.

Be honest DH your heart would "sink" regardless of who is on the bench or even in the starting XI

From your many posts it would appear that in your world...

Every time we are collectively seething about a gash display, someone starts an Obua thread - whether he played or not !

He's not good but certainly no worse than many of the imposters who pull on the jersey, especially in midfield.

IMO sitting on the bench, but still picking up a wage which is far greater than he deserves.:whistling:

If Obua and Elliott had played up front in a 442 last night I don't think we would have got beat.

Worryingly I agree, I think we'd have had more than 1 shot on target as well.

As crap as people think Obau is and I'll be the first to admit that he is. He didn't give up the free kick that lead to the cross that was then headed in by a guy I've never heard of unchallenged towards a goal area that Kello should have at least been in the frame of the picture. Glad to get that off my chest.

Kello was so far out off the play I actually thought the header took a deflection while watching it live.

If Hearts actually played a decent passing game now and again...........you know the things, one- twos, give and goes etc ......then I think Obua might be able to perform a roll in it ?

However speculative punts from the CHs ............and 40 yd shells from Stevenson simply wont do

Obua's actual favoured position is left-wing back (supposedly!) That's where Csaba signed him for yet rarely played him there, i did watch him play once or twice there and he did fairly well (Hamilton one time in particular, chased back, tackled and got forward and put in a few decent crosses). He was also allegedly a "free-kick expert" aye right then! There are a few players that are as bad, if not worse than him but the reason he gets most stick on here is because all us Jambos know that money at Tynecastle is limited and wasters like him are paid probably 3 times more than they're worth, some of the others won't be on anywhere near the money this excuse for a footballer is so he gets the most stick. For his wage we could get in two, maybe even three decent SPL players that would contribute more for the team than he ever will.

So Obua aside. Someone answer me this:

If we were to terminate a players contract is it the equivalent of the full pay for duration of the contract? Because I'd think compensation would be a little less? So if their not contributing seems sensible just to cut our losses than have them hanging around.

Not necessarily - within employment legislation there is an option clalled a "Compromise Agreement" - this is a negotiated agreement where the employer wants/needs to move on an employee but doesn't have a case in law to dismiss them. It requires the company and the employee to jointly come to an agreement on a sum of money which the employer pays to the employee in return for terminating the employment contract and in return the employee waives any rights of comeback for unfair dismissal.

These agreements are not uncommon and pave the way for companies to make changes to the benefit of the business whilst benefiting the employee with an instant lump sum and the opportunity to secure another position right away.

If the agreed lump sum is less than the monies due over a period the employer has to make a decision whether or not it is worth paying the cash up front.

The current situation with Obua or any other player still in contract could be dealt with in this manner if it were acceptable to both parties - in the case of Obua I personally would be willing to contribute a small amount to the lump sum if it would hasten the process !!!!!!

Still can't understand why Hearts would give Obua a 4 year contract (lack of ability/heart aside). We had just been done on the Webster ruling ... which if I remember rightly was about leaving after year 3 of a 4 year deal.

Why was a 4 year deal given ... or do we have the right to hope that he will in fact be leaving in the summer on that self same Webster ruling ...

We seem to have an obsession with playing players out of position, despite having one of the biggest squads in the league. Eggert all over the place, Thomson in midfield, Bouzid at right back, Stevenson up front, Obua as a front target man. And so on. I thought Csaba specialised in this but JJ seems just as bad. Are any of our players really so good even in their natural position that we can expect them to perform well when shunted to other positions? Are the fringe players so poor they can't slot in if required, even now that our first choices seem to have decided we don't have much to play for? Of course it can happen during a match that you have to improvise, but I don't understand why we handicap ourselves by playing players out of position from the start so often.

Anyway it's absurd that Obua should be anywhere near the front of the queue for abuse after last night.

I noticed on another thread someone asked you to make a list of players that you actually DID like.

As far as I know you never answered.

It would help "avoid confusion" if you'd take the time to compile that list.

Thanks
