Debut 4 Posted March 10, 2011 Share Posted March 10, 2011 Patience is key with some players. Some fans expect instant success, some will give players time. Black has definitely flourished under Jefferies because JJ wants players to play and express themselves and he also makes players believe in themselves. Half of the work is down to the player as well though and with Black always being a seemingly strong character, its no surprise he fought through an initial sticky spell. If you think Ian Black has played well this season then i think you and i have very very different standards in what is expected of a good player at our level. I might be wrong, but i think he does make a very positive difference. Think he has been great this season and when he isnt there, we miss him. Perhaps if he concentrated on playing football rather than behaving like a thug he might get somewhere. He gets caught in possession far too often, he commits too many fouls, he makes very poor decisions and can't beat any opposing player - oh but of course he is Hearts daft and gets the boot in - so everything's OK then! Not wanting the boy to fail but he had a purple patch as some have said but largely he has deceived with mostly his game comprising of fouling opponents.....
