Defending a 1-0 lead from an away first leg can be very tricky. You never know whether to stick or twist - as both Hearts and Newcastle have discovered to our and their cost in recent years. If Milan and Inter don't pull their fingers out, Italy could be left with no participants at all in either of this season's European competitions. Even the French League is closing in on Serie A now.
