Blackpool Chelsea

Could be amazingly bad for blackpool who are without Adam and Dudley j Campbell ( little wonder he calls himself dj). The boy zhirkov looked a cracking player for Chelsea in there last match and could make a huge impact in a rare start.

That Chelsea team should be destroying Blackpool, but I cant bring myself to lump chelsea -2.

Got a feeling blackpool might spring a surprise (cue chelsea slapping home 6goals)

:turned:

Yes - but just for the win, not the margin of victory.

Incidentally, I had a look at Chelsea's run-in yesterday. Even though they still have to go to Old Trafford, if they get the bit between their teeth, I'm struggling to see them dropping points anywhere. :o

Win tonight, and they're still (back?) in the race.

I can't listen to McLaren without thinking of THAT interview.

I swear he is still speaking as if he is Dutch.

Need to win the games in hand and win at Old Trafford to have any chance.

Plus, we'll drop stupid points some where. Especially if John Terry plays every game for the rest of the season.

He's had a shocker of a season though. If Ancelotti stays beyond the end of the season I wouldn't be surprised to see him replaced.

Thanks. Feeling myself getting dragged back on here more often.

Chelsea should have this finished as a contest by half time.

Giving me plenty of time to watch the programme about Dennis the Menace on STV at 9pm.

It happens to us all... <_<

Terry's career is winding down now really, not that he'd ever accept it. Will Ancelotti stay, though? Doesn't seem likely at this point. Being heavily linked with Roma; and the Juve job might shortly be available again too.

I hope McLaren stays in Europe, not enough British coaches do the doo abroad.

Cant see past Chelsea tonight - Torres to get his first goal.

Nah, he'd never accept that.

I think he will as long we finish in the top 4. He'll get more money to spend in the summer. If he does leave he'll be going to Roma. They're his team and may have cash to burn.

Didier Deschamps as his replacement if he goes.

Hmmm for a team with as patchy form as Chelsea then it is a big ask to put together such a run. Not sure they are capable of it, but you never know. Still think they are missing a couple of players in the middle of the park tbh.

It is a big ask - but if you look at this, can you see what I mean?

07.03.2011 Blackpool away

20.03.2011 Manchester City home

02.04.2011 Stoke City away

09.04.2011 Wigan Athletic home

16.04.2011 West Bromwich Albion away

20.04.2011 Birmingham City home

23.04.2011 West Ham United home

30.04.2011 Tottenham Hotspur home

14.05.2011 Newcastle United home

22.05.2011 Everton away

It looks like a good run but they've got a few teams that are right in the relegation battle. They always seem to pull out results at this time of the season. I can't see them going to Man Utd and winning but they are certainly still well in it.

Man City at home will be tough.

Stoke away is never easy.

WBA away won't be easy.

Spurs at Stamford won't be easy.

Utd away obviously won't be easy.

And Everton have a cracking record against Chelsea recently.

Unless they seriously up their form from what they've shown in recent months (which there is no guarantee they will) then it's a big ask.

They are definitely back in the mix though I'll give you that. But they'll need to win at Old Trafford. Which is not out of the question.

Stoke away is never easy. Agree

WBA away won't be easy. Comfortable W

Spurs at Stamford won't be easy. Very likely W - I doubt Spurs can cope with the CL and PL

Utd away obviously won't be easy. Of course, but they look in a major mess right now. D?

And Everton have a cracking record against Chelsea recently. They do, but Everton, at present, are not very good. W

That they're back in the mix at all is remarkable - and while they have obvious deficiencies, so does everyone else. Plus, they worry United in a way Arsenal just don't.

All depends on whether they can hang in there - but if they do, their chances will grow game by game IMO.

But they are back in the mix due to other teams deficiencies rather than their own form which makes me doubt that they can go on the run needed to do it.

And Everton are great, I don't know what you are talking about. :yucky:

Will only take one goal then he'll kick on from there I reckon. Doesn't look like being tonight though. If I were Chelsea boss i'd stick anelka on at half time.

He's been playing like this for about a year now though.

It can't JUST be confidence.

Maybe he was playing above himself before?

He'd been playing above himself for bloody years though!

Sometimes a player is never the same after injury. Torres - who might also conceivably be a victim of burnout (Michael Owen was, if you ask me: too much football, too young an age) - looks like being an example. I'm starting to wonder if he'll ever return to his old self too.

Torres needs a good pre season behind him after a break to re charge his batteries.

Remember reading a while back his schedule from the tail end of last year/World Cup - it was all over the place with injuries and playing not at full fitness.

Sounds highly possible. Hope he has thick skin anyway cos he's gonna start reading about how shite he is in every English tabloid very soon.

I agree: he's very consistent, and pretty underrated really.

Chelsea fans singing:

I wanna go ho-ooome,

Blackpool's a shithole,

I wanna go home".

Could be the start of a bit of a run for Chelsea I think. Torres surely has to get his finger out and grab a goal.
