Denis Pyrnchenko

Anybody else see Denis warming up yesterday? This boy can hit a dead ball. Unbelievable technique!

Has a similaf flat flight like ronaldo and drogba. Mcdonald didn't have a chance with the ones on target.

He has scored 10 goals for the U19s this season in competitive matches - 3 from the penalty spot and 7 from free kicks.

FF, youve seen him in u19 games do you think he is ready for say last 30 mins of a game and what position is his best in your opinion

Now is the time to give these guys a chance.

Its obvious that we have too much dead wood drifting around with complacency in our first team.

He should be given a chance, easily better than stevenson

Tbf a corpse would have been better than Stevenson.

Agreed, I think we may aswell blood some of these guys now.

We are safe in 3rd ( I would hope ) and on yesterdays performance we dont look like we are going

to disturb the top 2 .

I missed his prematch warm up but my over riding impression of him at the half time warm up was that he looked a bit nervous about being on the pitch in front of a big crowd.

The guy looks like he can generate some real power on his kicks.

Little annoyed that Jefferies didn't throw him on at 2-0. The game was lost, why not give him a run out. There's nothing expected of him and he could just have a go.

I really thought we should have brought him on yesterday instead of just lumping on another forward when it was obvious our problem was in the middle of the park.

Yup - well, not so much annoyed as frustrated, (I feel that a lot! :ninja:) but, yup, I agree.

Probably a confidence thing, if he came on and had a bad touch the crowd would have turned against him, it was that kind of an afternoon.

Better for him to come on when we're 3-0 up and cruising so if something doesn't come off it won't be as bad.

If we wait for a 3-0 lead the guys will never get a game. Yesterday with nothing to lose was the time. The guys on the pitch had already lost us the game and there was never going to be much excitement watching Glen try to come to the rescue.

True.

I'm still being a little reactionary from yesterday, you're right that the crowd might've got on top of him if he'd made a mistake, but the game was a write-off after that second goal. I'm just annoyed that Jefferies did nothing and stuck with a system that clearly wasn't working.

Pretty much a trait of JJ and CL in the their days here, none or inefective use of subs

It breaks my balls when we are 1 down with say 10 mins to play and nobody comes on to attempt to change it.

In retrospect, starting Pyrnchenko and Robinson might not have been the worst idea. I don't think they could have done worse than Rudi and Stevenson. I agree that putting them into a game when we were losing and the fans were frustrated would not have been a great idea. The problem now is that the next game will not be ideal as we need to get back on track and there will be extra pressure on any young lads.

I've heard a lot about Denis hitting good free kicks, anyone seen much of his passing game?

Yesterday was not the time to chuck him in, I'm afraid. You have to remember our squad is already extremely young. I'd wait until we have Kyle etc back before giving him a shot.

He's some size of a laddie for one so young. I've never seen the lad play but from what i've heard he would've been a far better option in the middle than the complacent un-interested display of some yesterday. Hopefully Jeff gives some of the boys a chance to show what they can do - they can be no worse than what was on show yesterday.

He can definitely hit them, but the last time I saw him for the U19s for everyone he hit on target he put 3 or 4 well wide or over.

He is certainly ready. His best position is centre midfield or in a holding role, although he could play as a central defender.

I don't know the right way to phrase this but his stature is such that his physical presence can give him a certain dominance over those around him.

However, if JJ persists on keeping him on the bench with no prospect of actually getting on the park, short of us being 3-0 up with 10 mins to go, then it is a waste of Denis' talent. With the weather disruption to the U19 fixtures and him joining up with the 1st team in the last two weeks, it now means that Denis has played just two competitive matches since November 20th, the last of which was on 16th January. There is no way that he will be match fit. I would rather see him playing with the U19s for next three or four weeks to get some games and his fitness back. then he can rejoin the 1st team and maybe start a game or two after the split

Think he is Ukrainian, no idea where we found him.

As far as I'm aware, we got him from the youth team of Borussia Berlin in the German 4th division or something like that. Before that he was at another German side, might've been FC Koln.

Not sure if he's born in Germany to a Ukrainian family or was scouted by Koln and moved there, but he was in Germany before us and I think we picked him up when he was 17.

He has played for Ukraine U17s and U19s, but as Meadows says he has a German passport. He was initially brought to Hearts for a trial by Anatoly Korobochka along with another German lad, Michael Fetta (or something similar). Darren Murray thought that Denis had some potential so we kept him on.

That's what I though, was shouting to the touchline. The substitutions were 'inspired' as usual.

Why bring him out the under 19's for two matches and not give him a game? That will be three weeks without a competitive match.

The lad is certianly big enough!

I actually think it is the other way round. When I spoke to him, I'm sure his words were that he was annoyed people kept saying he was ukrainian. I'm also certain he no longer has a Ukranian passport so cannot represent the youth team - ie he has to be picked by Germany

From what I seen & know, I'm unsure if he's ready, or indeed as FF says he needs games!!

Couple of things are - his freekicka are dynamite & e practises them loads, so much so he has to be stopped from wanting to do too much extra. Also, he is the type of player who will look to get It down & pass - tho as has been said hed maybe make a bad touch or pass & the crowd would get at him

I'm not gonna big him up for him so fail, but he's a great guy, infectious workrate & personality - give him time but could be great

Don't believe for an instant that the crowd would have got on his back. What causes the problem is seeing players either not trying, being off form and left on or more commonly past their sell by date in chances given with no evidence of being good enough. It can in fact lift the crowd to see if there is someone coming through who may be better than the drivel they are watching.

Our friends in the stand are always too intelligent to make quick assessment of players, especially in losing game.

So yesterday's game may not be appropriate to make his first appearance.

But still this is the time to start looking at youngsters, and any passers are welcome as it's non-existent at the moment.

JJ probably has the boo boys at the back of his mind and worrying about blooding the young kids. If he'd come on after the second goal he'd be getting the Beniuseless, Strachenky boo boys treatment. Setting back any progress he has achieved to be named on the bench.

Shame really as it is totally impossible to contribute any less than some of our first team regulars that were chasing shadows all afternoon.

Once third is secured, and assuming Rangers and Celtic are out of sight, I think we'll see a few of the youngsters.

Comment about the boo boys is a good one. Some Hearts fans have shown a worrying willingness to boo our own players in recent years, including youngsters.

It's a good point and another thing not all Hearts fans post on KB or keep up to date with U19's and some will hear his name think 'Kaunas dud' and give him pelters for his first mistake

I've seen him in a few U19 games. Seems very promising. Can boss games. passes well and can certainly hit a ball!

I think Sat was a chance missed. At 2-0 down and not looking like achieving much, I think fans would have been grateful for anything! He wasn't going to get blamed for the defeat.

I saw his name on the subs bench against Aberdeen and wondered who this Pyrnchenko was, i'd never heard of him. Thought he must've been Ukrainian with the name but....

What age is he?

What's his favoured position?

Is he here as a trialist or loan or an actual signing?

Where has he came from?

Is he here just 'til the end of the season?

Has he just signed recently (transfer window) or the start of the season?

Heard he's a free-kick expert, i wouldn't read too much into that....Obua said the same!!! If he has as much potential as has been said, he should be in the team whether we're winning or losing, depending on the team we're playing of course.

He's been asked for his assistance coaching first team players on dead ball situations outside of training so i think that only emphasises his set piece credentials...

Signed last season from a German club

For the Under 19s so far this season has scored from 7 free kicks, including 2 in one latch against Hibs so can be legitimately called a free kick specialist.
