I do believe the two sides have met and the press haven't got hold of it. But Edinburgh is a village and it's very difficult to keep these things totally secret. No your not the only one mate. I dont really understand all the hype around McGhee either to be honest. Not someone I rate particularly highly.... then again, seems i'm in the minority with that train of thought. If he's as good as we're capable of getting then jings crivens and help ma boab. I'd say he's been as good for them as they have been for him: didn't Mowbray 'use' Hibs in much the same way? As I've said elsewhere, I think Celtic will be in for Moyes or Mowbray above him anyway - and you can't blame him for wanting to leave a club whose gates of around 5,000 mean they have no hope of sustaining any sort of real success. All managers worth their salt are ambitious - and if they do a brilliant enough job at one club, move on to a bigger one: it's how the gravy train works. But if in the meantime he'd sorted us out and achieved some success with us, it'd actually be a win-win: good for him, and good for us too. I could be wrong but I think this is a popular misconception. Even if we get a proper manager with full autonomy over training, team selection, formations, tactics and subs I don't think they'll get much of a say in who comes or goes. They will probably be able to identify players and the club will do all the contract negotiations. The board will also have the final say over players who are sold and when they are sold.
