geddy Posted March 24, 2008 Share Posted March 24, 2008 I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the acts in the top 10 that I have read about are almost embarrassed about their positions (if they actually know about this poll). Top 10 for me are bands like Queen, Thin Lizzy, Pink Floyd, AC/DC etc. The ones who will be in the next top 50 rock acts show in 5 years time. Many of the bands higher up are fads of their time and very few will be in the top 50 let alone 10 should there be a show/poll in 5 years time. No doubt those bands that stand the test of time will still be under what are fashionable to teenagers of that time. The top 20s or 30s greatests of....whatever when on MTV will tend to feature artists/bands who have made videos for MTV. So many of the best acts and songs of history fail to appear. Sad.
