jbee647 Posted January 21, 2011 Share Posted January 21, 2011 at the beginning of these respective seasons none of these clubs would have been amongst the favourites to be Champions 1954-55 ABERDEEN 1959-60 BURNLEY 1961-62 DUNDEE 1961-62 IPSWICH TOWN 1963-64 BOLONGA (seria A) 1964-65 KILMARNOCK 1969-70 CAGLIARI (seria A) 1969-70 EVERTON 1971-72 DERBY COUNTY 1977-78 NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1979-80 ABERDEEN 1980-81 ASTON VILLA 1980-81 AZ ALKMAAR (Eredevise) 1982-83 DUNDEE UNITED 1984-85 EVERTON 1991-92 LEEDS UNITED 2009-10 TWENTE ENSCHEDE8 every one of these clubs became champions despite being good but unfancied sides, it proves it can be done, we have good players an excellent experienced manager and if we can stay lucky with injuries and the ball rolls for us we can be CHAMPIONS 2010-2011, , we have to believe it too, we will likely lose games between now and the end of the season, but its a certainty Rangers and Celtic will lose games too, and we must stay on there coat tails for the entire season, in 1998 we finished 7 points behind champions Celtic, but after an early April defeat at Easter Road we literally threw in the towel , yet Celtic and Rangers continued to drop points right up to the end of the season, if we had been stronger mentally and kept up the pressure , who knows, whatever happens this month, we MUST keep up the pressure on the old firm right to the end "BELIEVE" - we can do it Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But it's a good point nonetheless. If we don't believe (or at least have real hope) now, when will we? Odds are there to be beaten, records to be broken; and if all those sides you mentioned could do it, so can we. PS. Minor aside: Leeds were certainly among the favourites at the start of 91/2. Even Forest 1994/5, who finished 3rd in their first season back up, are more deserving than those little known plucky underdogs, Manchester United.
