So go on then...how do you make your stovies? HAS to have corned beef in them, I put sausage in mine as well but for me they are a dead loss if there's no corned beef in them! RoyCropper
Got a Moroccan lamb tagine cooking away in my slow cooker at the moment, to be served with couscous. So go on then...how do you make your stovies? Im doing stovies using beef. The other day my mate said he made his with sausages! I cooked the chopped onions and fat together in a pan then added the beef and potatoes. Then gave it a good stir and added the salt, pepper, water and stock. Then i left to boil and simmer for about 25 minutes and gave it a stir now and then to keep it from sticking to the pot and make sure it mushed together. Voila. Only the second time I have made them though, she usually does it. Am i doing it right? Any tips? Edit - Thinking of making chocolate krispies tomorrow. Seems boring though, any way i can make them more exciting?

blondejamtart
Ask 100 people how they make their stovies and you'll get 100 different recipes! Some swear by corned beef, others by sausages... I think the best stovies are made with the leftovers from a roast (and the dripping!) but it's all down to personal preference, I suppose. Oh, and you've got to leave them to stick to the pot a bit - those crispy bits you get are the best part!
