Was fairly positive, & set up Elliott when he hit the woodwork.

Overall, plenty chances, solid defence but midfield and composure was poor. We never played to our potential. Need to stop hitting Kyle so early.

Thought Zal did well also with the exception of the clearance which led to the goal. Fantastic tackle which led to the red card incident

 

Good threat breaking forward as a team again. Not a brilliant overall performance but they are a good team so to create the better chances at their ground and get the three points represents a cracking night.

Everyone of them worked their socks off, including Rudi who is working far harder than he did when he was last here. the train keeps going in the middle, Rudi picked up and kept us going forward, Ryan got stuck in amongst them, and we always looked dangerous. Even the forwards work back all the time, and they never ever give up a ball, which is all you can ever ask.

 

Also 10 out of 10 to management team, for keeping the players working. You could here JJ screaming at players, yet when the subs were made, he was congratulating Elliot for working hard and the game he played. Man management at the moment is top class.

Barr - 7 Say what you like, I thought he had a good game, and looked comfortable at the back and going forward

Bouzid 8 - solid as ever

Zali 8 - just great, as always. Made One poor clearance which was punished, but strolled through the game apart from that.

Palazuelos 7 - I'm slowly being converted, excellent game, and maybe a better left back than centre mid?

Stevenson 7 - Always looking to play a killer pass, still maintain he is a vital player for us if he gets a run in the team. Always looking for the shot too.

Skacel 6 - pretty anonymous tbh, but manages to give whole team a lot of confidence. Unlucky with early effort.

Mrowiec 7 - most unsung hero of our current run. Let's centre halves/full backs go wherever they like, and he will always, ALWAYS be covering them. Fast becoming the first name on the team sheet behind Kello.

Templeton 8 - terrified the 'Well defence,and always looking like causing trouble

Elliott 6 - poorest game for a while, but give him a chance, and he WILL score goals for us.

Kyle 9 - MOTM just immense. The guy causes problems for every team we play, and creates the space that allows Elliott, Temps and Rudi to perform in. Would bleed maroon if you cut him open right now.

Barr-6 Poor in the 1st half, better in the 2nd and sent in a few good crosses.

Palazuelos-7 Good 1st half overall, and doing well at LB.

Bouzid-6 Found himself dragged out of position, but more down to the movement of forwards.

Zaliukas-6 Great tackle late on but like the rest of the defence had a few shaky moments.

 

Mrowiec-7 Is able to keep it simple and yet launch spectacular passes to Barr which then set up Elliott for his chance in 2nd.

 

Stevenson-6 1st half was scrappy, had a good effort from long range but generally I thought he did OK.

 

Skacel-6 Found it difficult to get involved but still worked hard. Still quality.

Elliott-6 Had some great opportunities to score, 1st and 2nd half..Still I like him.

Templeton-8 MOTM. It's great seeing him take folk on at pace and if only he'd scored with his bicycle kick 1st half then we could put Pele to bed in Escape to Victory.....

 

Kyle- 7 Very close to being MOTM imo. Showed some good control, held the ball up well and dispatched the penalty with some grace.

Kello - 6 - not a reflection on how he played (I know that makes no sense at all!) but rather a reflection on the fact that despite Motherwells possession he had little to do

 

Barr - 5 - I know some people thought he played well but my gut feeling is that has more to do with how poorly he has started his Hearts career as opposed to being an accurate reflection on his performance tonight. All of Motherwells threat came from his being out of position or being unable to cope with their forward players.

 

Ruben - 6 - did what he had to do but distribution was poor

 

Zal - 6 - did what he had to do but distribution was poor

 

Bouzid - 6 - nothing to rave about but steady

Zal 7. His first mistake for weeks. unfortunate that it cost us. Made up for it with a Robbie-esque tackle in the box. Otherwise another good solid performance

Bouzid 6. Lumped it forward too often when there were passes on but solid defensively

Palazuelos 6. Certainly improving but we need Wallace back. Good game tonight but not the answer.

 

Mrowiec 7. Again, did the dirty work well. Tidy game.

Stevenson 5. Unfortunately I think we are above his level

 

Eliott 5. Two glaring misses of alarm bell proportions. We need those to go in mate.

Skacel 7. I thought he did a lot of dirty work tonight which he wouldnt have liked but he did it anyway.

Templeton 8. Deserved the overhead to go directly in. Unplayable at times.

 

Kyle 8 MOTM for me. Never let their defence rest for one single minute. Won a ball most others would have given up on for the first goal. Well taken penalty and good leadership throughout.
