What songs do you want played at your funeral?

Seems people are dropping like flies at the moment, got me thinking about my funeral and how I'd like it. I'd want folk to be celebrating my life...but I want them crying as well.

I'd have that played as people arrive with this:

When they burn me.

What about you Kickback? Minus points for saying the Hearts song...maybe you would but face it, that's not particularly interesting. Plus points for saying Girls Girls Girls by Motley Crue.

and

I intend to be cremated and REALLY want these played. I want as little sadness at my funeral as possible, want them all to leave laughing and smiling!

Enter to this:

Make them sit through this as the coffin's heading for the flames:

Leave to this:

Always keep them guessing.

Well here it is , my time has come

Won?t be long I?ll be moving on

I can?t complain, I?ve had my day

Now I?ll be on my way

And all the good times that we?ve

Had

Much more good than bad

What more can I say?

Now I?ll be on my way

Don?t be sad now when I?m gone

Take your time while you?re still

Young

In the warm sunshine make hay

Now I?ll be on my way

Where I?m going , I don?t know

But I?m heading off in sun

Rain hail or snow

In the yard I hear the children play

Now I?ll be on my way

have no fear of what?s to come

My faith in better days is strong

Somewhere warm and safe to stay

Now I?ll be on my way

You might think you need my love

But I can?t give you half enough

You deserve the warmest purest

Rays

Now I?ll be on my way

Slan leat anois mo stor

There?s no need to see me to me door

We?ll meet again I hope and pray

Now I?ll be on my way

We?ll meet again I hope and pray

Now I?ll be on my way

I think I'll need to book a double spot at the crem for mine.

For Folk arriving

Bullet for My valentine - Curses

Metallica - Nothing else matters

Flogging Molly - If I ever leave this world alive

Coffin brought in to

Ecstasy of Gold - Ennio Morricone

Song for everyone to sing

Forces of Evil - Angry Anthem

Song for everyone leaving (and sobbing their hearts out)

Colin Hay - Waiting for my real life to begin

Choice of Always look on the bright Side, Sailing or "Fire" by Crazy World of Arthur Brown.

Bits of the Hearts Song (Just Hearts, Hearts, Glorious Hearts chorus) as they chuck the ashes over the Castle Walls.

Funnily enough was talking about this subject last week with a few mates. 3 songs I would want played.

Whatever - Oasis

I am the resurrection - Stone Roses

Going home - Runrig - sentimenatal reasons

Last 1 is a bit soppy, the other 2 is more my sense of humour + really like those songs!

I want wailing at the start so would a selection of the following for folks arriving

The long and winding road - The Beatles

Lean on me - Bill Withers

Don't dream it's over - Crowded House

Then I would want cheek and humour so

For my descent in to the firey pit

Would have this for everyone leaving

followed by Back in Black - AC/DC and Bat out of hell - Meatloaf

Would also have some of the following scattered through the service...

Sympathy for the devil

Your as cold as ice

Creep

Absolutely agree !!

Oh and the hearts song...

Thats eerie !

I would probably have chosen those two as well ...........although maybe using Eva Cassidy's version of SOTR

Also a bit unsure whether to have people blubbing or leaving with a smile?

Always quite facnied this version at a funeral - dont know why

It's Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, the late great Hawaiin ukelele player
