Julio
squad for their firendly next week against Mexico. What a joke LK seems to have played more times this season for his country rather than us. If Frail had any backbone at all he would demand he didn't travel with them for a meaningless friendly. When our debt increases by millions year on year can we justify paying the likes of LK a reputed 15 grand a week. We are going to finish in the bottom six and what return have we had for his wages? I don't know the precise FIFA rules but I'm pretty certain we'd be in trouble if we didn't let him go.

Jeremy Goss
not so sure what FIFA's stance is on allowing players on international duty, but i would have thought that clubs like Barca asking Cameroon to release Eto'o late for the CAN tournament would mean that Hearts have the right to ask Ghana if we can keep Larry until he is fully recovered. Erik
Way way back when the Kingston deal was done, i was shot down in flames for questioning whether or not he'd be a player worth spending all that money on. ToadKiller Dog
Are they not playing the game in london,so not far for him to travel,it might actually be good for him to get some playing time in,but knowing our luck he would get injured again. ,but yes Frail can stop him from going if he wants as it is just a friendly. Dundee uniteds midfielder Prince Buster has been called up to the ghana squad also. I dont think the club will stop him,but i would rather he stayed here. Thing is we all know he ain't been injured at all. That is plain nonsense he was clearly injured or was he just flying down to london to see the sights and not a sports injury specialist and he was just wearing the special air shoe for fun,What a long way to go just to fool us all. Kingston is in for a possible return on Saturday,so is clearly returning from injury. There are certain international dates when clubs do not have to send there players out in a season,i think this is one of them ,Burley was taking about it the other week not wanting to upset the old firm players too much. hoofhearted
i think countries should take a back seat if a player has played less than a set amount of games through injury allowing for his main employer to continue his rehabilitation without interruption. this would maybe allow the fans who pay to see them get the chance. The Game is in london ,so technically not abroad,Larry is in contention for the Falkirk game this weekend .so needs games to get up to match speed,it is a risk to let him go,but so will be playing him against Falkirk. Read the Hearts site, he's now recovered from the injury (that had him on crutches for weeks btw) and is in contention to play on Saturday. How can we possibly deny him to Ghana under these circumstances given the FIFA regulations ? And the game is being played in London so he wont have to travel abroad. Walter Payton
This should nip this in the bud (but I'm guessing some people will still find room to whinge). FIFA have set about international windows where Football Assosciations can organise international games, whether competitive games or friendlies. As long as the game is going to take place within one of these windows, even if it is a friendly, international teams can call up players and insist they travel without clubs having the right to refuse. If clubs try and refuse on the grounds of medical reasons, FAs can insist on the players still travelling and being assessed by their own medical teams. If Ghana wants to call Larry up, there's nothing Hearts can do to stop them.
