Warriston.

I was Lauriston....

Not Warriston.

Your missing  one was Raeburn.

They were named after the four sides you could see (almost!) from the playground.

I think Warriston was a house at Boroughmuir.

Titheid Parsih and Drunkenarse Haining.

All of the above were there in my years also, 89-94.

Also agree with you liked/dislike list.....although will add Mr Tulley and Mr Scott to disliked.

Used to like Mr Wexler (can't mind how to spell it, was my reg teacher tae).....but that like vanished when a certain charge was brought to light.

Nah the grey haired maths teacher who liked to either slam his duster on the table or launch a bit chalk at you like a manic.

I think you might be thinking of Mr Hay, who became headmaster when I was there (after Mr Munro).

'Mr Short' springs to mind, as the person I'm thinking of.

Aye, the bucket squad

He had a bad habit of giving folk a right good kick up the arse, especially if they weren’t as good at rugby as a certain Andy Irvine!

I’m pretty sure his wife was a teacher there as well?

I probably know you CJGJ.

Old Donald get off the bally pitch Hastie. Had his office in the art corridor up 3 or 4 stairs in the junior school iirc. That's where you went to get your international tickets (remember the benches around three sides of old Murrayfield).  So you two appear to be circa my era what other teachers do you remember, with affection or otherwise?  Brannan (sic)?

Fish!! That was an odd cookie. Drove Taxis in the summer hols. A friend and I were heading into D Mains when he pulled up to ask directions. I'd actually just left that year and when he rolled the window down and I saw who it was I blurted out Fish! What the **** are you doing driving taxis! .  Colin Mackay!! Jeez louise he had no control over classes (I assume that was everyone and not just ours). McPherson was a nasty SOB for (supposedly) a man of the cloth. Fat Harry was a good lad , loved his golf. Thick Thick was another oddball though pretty much harmless.

Some others I can remember  be George Dagenhart (Maths), Miss Simpson (11-13L) her very good friend Miss Moffat.

John Roy's son (also John irc) was the convener of the Dunfermline Hearts supporters club. John himself had a trial for Spurs in his youth. Do you remember if you had to go home ill (real or faked) you got a slip to get signed by your parents?  One day I went to get one off Roy (Hearts were playing Burnley in the Texaco cup the next day) and he game me the pass. Just as I was leaving he asked me to get him a programme!! I did!.

Did Huxtible not get into bother after girls were admitted (a few years after i left unfortunately)? In my day The dome was just the Headmaster. I had two Willie Dewar (not that speccie twat Donald Morgan ) and MacDonald. We also called Barnes Chester after the table tennis player.

My mum was good friends with Tony (the Taff) Welton's wife. She taught at the school during the war so it shows how far that couple's relationship with the school went back. Never really believed the rumours about him.
