Diego10
I?d say it was a big indicator for any new regime. If we do appoint a manager, who is responsible for picking the team and has full control, why would he not want to be looking to get Roman back? I don?t think any of that will happen, but it would definitely show a change in the thinking

It was strange there." If I was him I would be careful what I was saying. The last player to criticise VR has just started to get a game again after being frozen out. Romanov could quite easily scupper Bednars plans if he wanted to. He could recall him as he is still a Hearts player and has still a good bit of his contract to see out. So Roman I would keep it down for nowor you could find yourself sitting in the stand at Tynie mate.

Fraggle
Another re-hash of the same non-story doing the rounds at Christmas time. Not a scathing word in the article from Bednar about Hearts, displeasure at the way things were and are still going yes, but by no means scathing. With the possibility of playing in the premiership looming, is it any wonder he may be trying to work his ticket! Hopefully he goes within the next couple of weeks and we get a nice wee transfer fee in the process.

Coco
I find the Roman Bednar thing strange. If we were about to sign a player who was playing for the team leading the English Championship and scored about 10 in 12 or whatever it is, we would be creaming ourselvef. However, we're creaming ourselves to get rid. Things at Hearts really arse about since Vlad took over! Whether we like it or not the guy has ability and is beginning to show that now. The manegrial situation at Tynecastle wasted the lad and I do wonder how many other players we have wasted because of it, whilst we play or played favourites. May not be populat but Bednar was a victim of circumstance for me. There used to be a lot of posts about how Beniusis was going to be a good player for us because he scored 12 in 13 games or something for Kaunas last year ... I would have oved to seen Velicka and Bednar up top together in full swing. It would have been sexy to say the least. He ain't coming back. We are re-signed to it. sked21
Is it dig at us or the way the club is run? Yeah I suppose. But it is the fact he has said it in just about every interview. srm12
The thing I find strange about the whole Bednar situation is the fact that when he left the majority just said 'he was a lazy barsteward best to get rid of him' etc. There were a few who knew his potential and wanted him to stay. But why do the majoriy, who I assume witnessed his performances at the start of the first season, assume it was the player who changed and not the more obvious reason that the circumstances at the club and the tactics employed were the reason for poorer form. A good player (and he looked top class in the first couple of months of 05/06, our top player IMO) does not become a bad player over night. A far better footballer than Velicka. Although Velicka is good I think he has found his level, whereas Bednar has the potential to star for his country and in the EPL. I just hope we get a decent price for him. The Merse
I don't see what he said wrong, I also don't understand the hostility towards him, Vlad has ruined the morale of the support as well as the players. Playing for Hearts cannot have been an enjoyable experience in the last 18 months and can see why good players looked poor, due to lack of motivation to do well. bilston angel
Here we are again blaming the players and management that have fallen foul of Vlad , surely they can't all be wrong. I'm not going to list them all again but Chesny is among them also I'm not saying that Bednar's the greatest, but the common denominator is Vlad he appears to have even fell out with Rodney, why can't people just accept that he is the sole reason for the decline of the playing performance of this club by his appointments and interference, yes him alone. We can only hope he really means what he says now, or we are going nowhere. I have no criticism whatsoever outwith the playing side with Vlad especially keeping Tynecastle in place and sterling work on the commercial side but even he must see that if we're not doing the business on the park all his projections for investment, income and crowds in the improved stadium will not come to fruition. May not be populat but Bednar was a victim of circumstance for me. I would love us to buy a player who is scoring that often in the Championship. The trouble with Bednar is, we had him for two season, he played 54 games and scored 14 goals. He had ability in bucket loads, trouble is he couldn't or wouldn't use it for us. He can't have been that bothered about the managerial situation at the begining of last season when he signed a long contract with us, so he was quite willing to take the money, but not to do the job. Debtor
Bednar is a great player and with a decent manager would have scored many goals for us. He could have been great, but was ruined by poor management. He will be kept by Mowbray and bang in the goals in the EPL. Another player wasted. We need a good few moved out, and half a dozen good ones brought it. Then we can be a force again.
