bertracoon
I'm planning on going snowboarding at Glen Coe tomorrow. Does anyone know if it's best to hire stuff up there or are there other places you can hire on the road up? (I know there are places on the road up to Glenshee) Also, how long should it take to get there?
Tott
I guess you can hire there,as theres sod all on the way up. Take about 2 hours from Edinburgh. High winds forecast for tomorrow as well.
cosanostra
I wouldn't bother mate, it's rubbish. The snow is crap and the slopes are rocky. Went there with 2 mates and one snapped a bit off his board and my friend and I had big chips and dents all over ours. Definitely not recommended. bertracoon
When were you there? They've had some good snow this week
cosanostra
When were you there? They've had some good snow this week This was about 5 years ago. I wouldn't go back. Wrecks your board. Maybe it's improved since then though.
bertracoon
How glad am I that I didn't take your advice! Just back, quality day had, great snow, plenty of powder to be found. Nice and sunny in the morning with a blizzard all afternoon. Perfect for flying down a mountain, the wind was filling in all the tracks so every run was through fresh snow. Awesome

Awesome Glad you had a good one. My last time there was dreadful. Rocky slopes, wet, cold and miserable weather etc Maybe i'll give it another try. bertracoon
Thoroughly recommend it. As long as there's good conditions, I wouldn't bother on crappy snow. There were still rocks cropping up but there was plenty space to get round them. Also pretty empty all day, longest wait for a lift/tow was about 5 minutes
bertracoon
bttt...... The Coe is getting smashed with more snow this week. If you like skiing or boarding get yer arse up there if you can. I'll be there Friday and Saturday. Was boarding in Colorado this year, the snow at Glencoe was AT LEAST AS GOOD on Sunday as any I had over there!
