Dirk Diggler
Installed Firefox yesterday and noticed a big difference in speed on here. The one thing that's letting it down is the scrolling speed, It's driving me nuts. Is there anything I can do to improve it or do I just have to learn to live with it. Any help would be appreciated. Ryan Gosling
Go to tools, options, advanced, tick smooth scrolling and autoscrolling.
Commander Harris
try going to tools > options > advanced and deselecting "smooth scrolling" - see if that helps. Edit: tobias beat me to it
Dirk Diggler
Go to tools, options, advanced, tick smooth scrolling and autoscrolling. Cheers. Autoscrolling was already on, Smooth Scrolling wasn't. That's obviously helped it run smoother but it's still slow as feck. If I can't get it any better I'm going to switch back to IE7. Guest GhostHunter
You need to wait until the page has loaded... For instance, this page took 3.5secs to load fully - then the scrolling works properly.
Dirk Diggler
Really? It scrolls fine for me. I've had a quick look on google and it seems pretty common. I can't find a cure to solve it though. It's quicker when i use the keyboard arrows but i'm a man of habit.
Commander Harris
if you are still having problems you could give this a try: type "about:config" into the address bar. type "mousewheel.withnokey.numlines" into the filter and change the value to "12". then type "mousewheel.withnokey.sysnumlines" and change the value to "false" hope that helps. IE7 takes 4 seconds for me to scroll from top of the page to bottom. Firefox is taking 11 seconds.
