Sir Digby Chicken Caesar
Dropkick Murphy's album The meanest of times, is quite good, OI! music, a bit like the mighty mighty bosstones, but sound like Irish Pirates The Dwarves are a good punk band, albums of 'are young and good looking' and 'come clean' are both about 25 minutes long, but worth it. I'll also put a word in for the Kills with 'no wow' and Josh Homme's eagles of death metal for some dancing rock!

Carl Spackler
Malcolm Middleton's new Album "Sleight of Heart" came out on Monday. It's the best album I've heard this year. http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=754354 In fact it's one of my favourite albums since what I think was his last one "A Brighter Beat" http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=618778 Oddly given that he's from Falkirk the reason I got into his music was because I heard one of his tracks mixed into a James Holden CD (completely different music, definitely not Indie, Rock or "Folk" as Middleton's music is sometimes descibed as (it's not folk in the sense I think of it)). http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=489751 If you like a bit of electronic music there was a good mix CD on the front of mixmag last month by DeadMau5. He apparantly has a "MySpace" page but I've never visited it. The first disc on Francois K's "Masterpiece" is good too. Can't recommend Middleton enough though. Jaap's Sigh
Try some Beta Band stuff mate. A wee bit different but not too out there. Pretty cool band. Split up now unfortunately. Think they only brought out 3 albums:- 3 EP's, Hot Shots Part Deux and Zeroes to Heros. The fist 2 are great. The 3rd is good. In my opinion of course. Del1812
They are starting to become mainstream, which ****es me off because now people are going to start hating them for that reason and that reason alone, but I'd say download every album by The Cribs. Quite simply my favourite band right now. The Cribs - The Cribs The Cribs - New Fellas The Cribs - Men's Needs, Women's Needs... Whatever

Gigolo-Aunt
Big star are a horrible band that gt more horriblerer per day. My mate gave me a loan of some of their stuff. As a Teenage Fanclub fan he thought it was up my street., Could not get in to it at all. I would add The Stones in this. Know its an obvious choice but the quality of material they put out up untill the mid 70's is quite astonishing.
Scallywag
I am dosed in the cold and on the lemsip and vodka at the moment, the following songs are all sound great. 100 Years Ago- Rolling Stones (stones at their best imo....yet most people havn't heard it) Gold Soundz - Pavement (so chilled out) Descending - Black Crowes - (wish I could play the piano...getting sleepy) Time for another Lemsip cocktail.
