BigMDV
Following on from the "who will you vote for" thread, I thought it would be interesting to have peoples views on this. I might not reply for 3 or 4 hours because I am one of the sadsacks who will be sitting up with a few beers watching the election results unfold, after a wee sleep. I would have voted UKIP if they were standing in my ward, but they weren't. I noticed on the other thread one poster does not agree on a UK referendum on staying in Europe. My question is why? Why should the people of Britain not be given that opportunity? Many many years ago, it was Ted Heath who took us into, what was then 'The common market' that was fair, it was a decent scheme back then. But what we have now is a European superstate, where 80% of Britains laws are made in Brussels and Strasbourg, we (UK citizens) never signed up for that. So the simple question is, do you think we should have a national referendum on staying part of Europe, or reverting to being an independant sovereign state (country), and of course your reasons why. Bye bye, sleepy time till 10, should be an interesting night as events unfold.
