i liked it, but i wanted more of a biography than simply telling a love story.

 

Agreed. I really enjoyed the biopic on BBC4 that pops up from to time. Interviews with his son, Roseanne Carter Cash, Little Richard, Merle Kilgore, etc., and looking at all of his life right upto "Hurt".

My first memory of Johnny Cash is in a religious education class watching his performances at San Quentin prison. I loved the film, but it could have been a bit more true to his life than it was. A good tribute though and many people who didn't know who he was do now.

agreed, a decent well made fillum but I think there is a far more interesting story to be told.
