I was using "tune up utilities" as recommended in the PC help sticky and also turned windows defender on while checking something else on that particular thread and now after finishing the clean ups etc when I click on a link I get a message "this operation has been cancelled due to restriction in effect on this computer, Contact your system administrator" well that would be me!!

Can anyone shed any light as to what I may have done??

i had exactly the same problem a couple of days ago. i had to re register another user on my computer and then re register the same email address to the new user and that solved the problem. just remember to back up your emails somewhere. or you could try this. http://www.hmfckickback.co.uk/index.php?/topic/70909-email-help/page__p__1575109__hl__email%20help__fromsearch__1entry1575109 and check out post 5

This is a problem caused by Internet explorer losing an important file.

The easiest fix is to un-install and re-install internet explorer, or select the "repair" option under the "programs and features" or "Add/remove programs" in Control Panel.

and download a fresh new copy of Internet explorer. Once you re-install this you should find the problem is fixed.

Make sure IE is your default browser. Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools, Internet Options, Programs tab. In the Default Web Browser section, confirm that it says "Internet Explorer is the default web browser" and that the 'Tell me if Internet Explorer is not....' option is checked.

If that doesn't work, sounds like a registry key is missing/corrupt.

A quick google of the exact error message should point you in the right direction.

Alternatively, if you have Google Chrome, re-install it which may resolve.
