Their major shareholder Vladimir Romanov owned a Sports TV channel in Eastern Europe, as well as 2 other football clubs." - the Sport1 channel was only established in the middle of 2008 also can't see this as any sort of benefit as he still had to buy broadcasting rights for the SPL. Also this: "Mikoluinas and Cesnauskas - fairly cheap options" - Miko, aye. He was a FBK guy but Cesnauskis was already a well established international and a Russian Premier division player with a few decent seasons under his belt. Not cheap in any way.
