A clue, since it's late :-

You are less likely to know this building if you are currently a school pupil.

Cryptic clue 2:

This building is in the city I was born in.

Ah, so in Ulaanbaatar then. I wondered how I hadn't been able to find it. :)

Wild guess - is it a former hospital for sick children?

We'll go with the former Edinburgh Royal Infirmary building in Simpson Loan then. ;)

I still haven't figured out what exactly the building was used for, and what it is now, but it certainly is beautiful. Those windows...

Edit: It's Jubilee Hall, now flats as part of the Quartermile development.

As above, old simpsons maternity pavillion

I'm not sure that it is, Sharky. The Simpson's Memorial Maternity Pavilion was demolished in 2006.

The Diamond Jubilee Pavilion (Jubilee Hall's original name) may have housed the gynaecological ward? Hopefully someone on here knows.

4 hours and no guesses for a building in Edinburgh!

I've given it a stab, but nothing yet.

Some thoughts though - definitely Georgian, probably New Town, noticeable balustrade parapet. The doors make it look like an ordinary street address, but the way the corner entrance tower is in the angle looks as if we could be looking at a quadrangle? The lamps in front of the corner door are interesting in that they both have crosses on top, suggesting it could possibly have a connection to a religious establishment. The ladder at the top is also interesting - why would that be there unless to service something, perhaps a flag, an aerial, a clock?

But as for finding the building, nada. :)

Good find Dunks, your helicopter was observant.

For anyone not been round there it's worth a look, quite fascinating.

Great find!

I spent a quarter of an hour combing the area around the red line you marked on your map at Moray Place. :D
