Is it annoying when someone posts on this thread for no reason at all?  :D

It would be, but I've never seen it happen. ;)

Are we looking at a building that's using a terracotta/ceramic baguette sunshade system?

Very good

Thanks. At least my nose is pointed in the right direction. Now all I have to do is figure out why it uses windows that would drive an OCD person berserk. :)

Wow. That is some find :o

It's wrong though :P

Ha ha. :D

Like those trick visual images where you can't see part of them until you look at them in a certain fashion, I missed the staircases in the building on your photo until they suddenly stood out. It would explain the different windows  - we're not looking at discrete floors of a building, rather at a large space with staircases. So, I thought the Lithuanian arena fitted the bill. Oh well, back to the drawing board! :)

It's part of the Scottish Parliament!

The problems I get when I forget which clues went with which photos! :D

Nice one, MMW!

I hope the folk in the building are well shaded from that strong Scottish sun!

  I'm sure you would have had that a long time ago if you thought it was in Scotland.  :)

It would only get the sun in the morning if it can break through the thick cloud.

Nice of you to say so, but I wouldn't. A quick search for "Scottish parliament terracotta baguettes", for example, produces nothing. I'd persuaded myself that it had be somewhere sunny like the Middle East or Australia.

How did you find it?

I was checking out the new buildings at the end of East Market street on Google maps as there are a few new builds there.  I then zoomed back out to the map and the a brown bit of the Scottish parliament looked like a possibility.  It certainly was. :D

Sweet. :) If you ever consider changing professions and becoming a taxi driver in Edinburgh, you probably know every street and alleyway by heart now!

I would make a fortune as I would always take the scenic route. :whistling:

Anyway, I'm exhausted after all that looking at buildings around the world with ceramic sunscreens. ;) Forever more, I will remember this day, 13 November, as "Terracotta Baguette Day". When I close my eyes tonight, I'll probably see hundreds of the feckers. :D

Cheers. It was the colour of the stonework that looked familiar.
