SCS - a warning.

If you are thinking about buying furniture (unlikely , but we did yesterday).

I just paid ?775 for a leather sofa (or settee , you might say) yesterday at SCS.

Today my missus went in with my lad to show him what we'd bought.

He said 'nice , only ?669'.

My missus says , 'No , ?775'

Turns out the price has dropped 10% since yesterday - when they were allegedly offering big discounts already.

My wife went inside the store and was met by a smiling rep who she spoke to yesterday and was asked if everything is/was OK.:smiliz65:

Big mistake.:santa5:

It is now with the additional 10% discount.:santa3::santa3::santa3:

It was a nice anecdote, kept me gripped to my seat in suspense. And I can't wait for the sequel.

But it didn't contain any warnings.

"Careful chaps, if you buy a sofa tomorrow, it might be cheaper than it was yesterday."

it's only a warning if they'd refused to give you the additional discount. They didn't refuse so it's really not a story.

I had a look in SCS once. Never again.

There was not 1 sofa in there that had any hint of style.

Be warned

I think you are all missing the bigger picture here and within the OP a clear cry for help

That message is;

At some point in your life you will reach an age/lifestage where on the 26/27 Dec instead of lying festering in a raging hangover of your own making you will go willingly to a furniture store to look at, appreciate and ultimately purchase a leather sofa.

Be warned. That clock is ticking.

Pretty good goint that they granted the 10% for you.

I blew ?3100 in Reid on boxing day. Sorry, my girlfriend did.

Pre boxing day it would have been a much bigger spend though. So im chuffed.

Also haggled for half price on the 5 year care pack. You dont ask, you dont get! :smiliz64:

Most stores here will honour prices to within x weeks of original sale (i.e. if it goes on sale a week later, you get a refund of the difference if you can provide the receipt). Never been a problem for us :)
